Comments: Earned my Combat Infantry Badge while a Rifleman, BAR Man and light 30 Cal. Machinegunner with the 31st Regiment. Got back to my MOS as Combat Photographer with the Photo Section and ultimately became Photo Section Chief. Flew on recon missions in L-19 Air craft, went on "tank shoots" with the 73rd. tank battalion, assigned to the Ethiopian Battalion as a Photo Advisor, crossed the MLR to Photograph the cease fire celebration of the Chinese enemy soldiers after covering the Porkchop Hill Battle July 1953. Proudly worked alongside a dedicated, hard working, danger defying bunch of fellow Combat Photographers.

However, I do know that he drove General MacArthur's jeep for a short time during the war. He served two tours in korea. My father name was Thomas B. Lewis most called him "lew" or "tom". If you remember him at all, I would love to here about his unit, etc.

Comments: Took basic in Hawaii,30th Battalion, Hawaiian Infantry Traing Center, 20th April to 4 August 1951. Shipped to Japan and then to Korea. Arrived in Korea in 51. Sgt. Burgess was the the man that kept us straight. I was promotted to Sgt. along with Sgt. George Westerhausen of Milwaukee, WI. before we rotated back to the states. Ended up in Fort Bliss Texas. Great memories. I was in charge of the signal truck. Before me it was Sgt. John Mize, a real nice man.Do you remember Elmer the dog in Korea?

Comments: In search of 200 or more Army personnel that boarded a ship on or about July 7, 1954 at Inchon Harbor, Korea. Already onboard were 2,000 Marines. The little white pills with the starvation diet of beans and bread for 22 days, probably caused your death. Contact www.info@militarymurder.com or P.O. Box 391, Hindsdale, N.H. 03451.
