Comments: All ambulance drivers, 1960-1961, I think it was A Company. Some of us were extended by the "Berlin Crisis", especially David Brown. He set fire to the bulletin board in the hospital to convince Admin that he was a little loopy, and should thus be sent home. Didn't work.

Comments: Trying to help my ill uncle Thomas Mahoney connect with his best friend in the service.
What Tommy recalls is the following: Dan Silva, originally from San Jose CA, Dan would be in his late 60's.
They served together 1956-1957 in South Korea in the 7th Division, 7th Medical Batallion, one particular place was Chung Mao.
Please if anyone can advise me as to how I can go about connecting with this man, I would be ever so greatful.
Thank you,
Elaine

He wishes he could get in contact with other soldiers in the 7th Medical Batallion Ambulance Company. He was captured in the Battle of Ohosin Resevior. Does the "Frozen Chosin" mean anything? In Dec '52 he was in the Regt. (3rd) Stockade in Changson No. Korea from 1950 to 1953. I urge anyone who been looking for your fellow Vets to please contact me and I will put you in touch with my Uncle. Thank you and thank you to all you brave soldiers who served our country.

Cpl.Leonard J. Smith, Medic, serving with I believe the
7th Infantry Div. I do have further information, but not at hand.
He was captured close to the Manchurian Border, right before
the first attack by the Red Chinese, in 1951.
Details:
Name: Cpl Leonard J. Smith RA 14290427
Transferred to Korea: Sept. 1950
Unit: 7th Medical Bn 17th Reg. 7th Inf. Div.
Hostile Action: Onchon-Ni 9 October 1950, for which he was awarded the
Bronze Star, posthumously. The only thing mentioned in the news clipping
is that the troops had penetrated to the Manchurin Border, in North East Korea,
a few days after the 1st attack by Red Chinese.
He was reported missing 24 November 1950, and was presumed dead
after more than a year, and was reported to have died in North Korean
Prison Camp. At some point he was promoted to Sgt.
I do not know if this was before he was presumed dead or not.
Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You,
Sandra Qualls
---from KWP----
His file shows that he was MIA on Nov 24, 1950. Later declared dead in
camp.
