All I know is that he was drafted into the Army when he was 17 and at that time he lived in Dayton Ohio. He has just recently passed away and if any one has any information or pictures who served with my father I would greatly appreciate it and would love to see any pictures that you may have. Plus I have no idea on what unit he served under even that would be a big help to me. Thank you and God Bless all the men and women who served to keep our freedom alive.

Comments: I am looking for any information or friends of my father, Donald Scott Burns, who served in the Army Infantry in Korea during most of 1954. As near as I can tell, he had basic training at Ford Ord, Calif. in December of 1953 and was with the 7th Infantry Division, 31st Infantry Regiment, HQ and HQ Company and he was a Light Weapons Specialist. I know he liked to box. He died in the early 1980s, but would not discuss much of his time in Korea. I know that the cease fire had already occurred at this point, but I understand that combat was still occurring off and on in spite of this. True or not? Anyone with info please contact me.

Comments: I am helping my Dad locate any members of the Far East Playboys. He doesn't remember much but he has a photo dated 8 April 1955. In the picture are PFC William Durbin (brushing his playboy costume), PFC Maxie Bilyeu (playing the fiddle), PFC James Skaggs (playing the electric guitar), and my Dad, SGT Roy Edward Smith writing a letter home. My Dad had an act called "Cousin Mildew".
