Comments: On October 5th 1951 my father was involved in a battle near Chobakkol. He was a switchboard operator. He won the bronze star for not leaving his post while under intense fire. He was with H.Q. company second battalion 7th calvery. He passed away when I was 3 and I would love to know more about him. He never told mom much about his war expierance , exept that he was amazed at how intense the emotion of fear could be. We have a few pictures of him and some guys in the field I think dad may have been considered the old man, at the age of 27.

Comments: I am looking for anyone who might remember my father Wendell Boyer, he has started the long endeavor of trying to rebuild his military record. He was a POW, that was never held in an actual camp. He was drug from place to place with the Red Army. He remembers a man by the name of Kenneth Loessel. When he was recovered, he was injured and returned to duty in a different regiment. Any information, or someone that might be able to help him please contact me. He has started talking about the war after 50+ years, and is starting to relive it all over. He is really struggling right now, and needs closure to this. Please contact me by any of the above means.

My father and the family have never been able to find outhow he died. The US Army did not provide that information, Just a western union saying he was killed in combat operations.
I am currently in Iraq and I was able to talk with a unit historian from the cav when they were in country. The unit historian was able to find some basic information on my uncle. I would like to help my father find out any information on my uncle.
I look forward to any help that you may be able to provide to me.

Comments: I wish I new more about my grand father, as I know I have his blood running through my vines. He made his way through the Japanese islands to lead the first troops into Japan after the bombs had been dropped. He was a Calvary man all the way and could ride and jump a horse like no one else. In fact, he was asked to ride Emperor Herohito's white stallion while station in Japan. When the call came for Korea, he was right there ready to serve. He never spoke much about the war times, but he lost most of his friends in the Korean war and walk out with several medals including the silver star and a bronze star. He retired a Major and was one mean SOB with a rough Irish side that only a true NY born Irish could have. I only knew him as a child, so any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

Comments: Hello to all of u and all those brave soldiers our country has. I am a student in Antilles High School at Ft. Buchanan, Puerto Rico, and I am doing a project about a soldier who went to the Vietnam War. I have to know how the soldier was drafted into war, how he got to the battle field, what he did(or she), if you killed any soldier up close to save your life, about POW( prisioners of war) and how did that person die. I am mostly interested in the battle of Ia Drang, the one shown in We Were Soldiers, because it shows a more real view of what a cold war is and I am very familiar with it. If any of you are interested in helping me with this project, please write to me to the email shown above. I will really appreciate it and so will my classmates. If you aren't interested, i will not take it against you because I know this is a very sad topic and many have lost loved ones there. Again, my email is dreamybabypr@yahoo.com so if any are interested I will love to know from any of you. Thank you so much for your time;I Josephine M. Centeno Catalá, Puerto Rico

Comments: I am trying to locate Robert E. Evans, from Runnells, Iowa. We were in George Co. together from Oct. 8 '51 till '02 '52. at which time he transferred to Personnel. For some unknown reason he came into our barracks and asked if I could type! I told him I had typed in high school a long time ago! I went to personnel took a typing test and transferred to Service Co. and spent the last year on my butt at a typewriter. My last contact from Bob was in Chicago. I have tried all I know how to locate him to no avail. I would like to talk to him and thank him before I depart this life. Thanks. Leroy

Comments: Searching for family of Master Sarg. Nagle (Naigle) of New York. Sarg. Nagle last seen Oct 1952, Chitosie (sic), Japan. He had served in Korea, before his duty at Chitosie, in the 7th Cav. He was an older man training kids like myself, who later went to Korea Oct 1952 (later SWIA 1953). Sarg. Nagle cried the day I left to go to Korea. He was like a father to me!
