Comments: Regards to kenneth Smith's comments from Marble Falls, Tx: I have moved from the address he listed for me at 1013 Inwood Dr in Hurst, Tx. I now live at 4328 Booth Calloway Rd; North Richland Hills, TX 76180. I served in the 7th Div Air Section as an air observer from 13 Dec 1952 until 24 July 1953. I have a roster of 54 pilots and air observers who served in that unit during that time frame. Would be happy to hear from any who served in the 7th Div Air Section, flying or maintaining the Cessna L-19 Bird Dogs. Gene C Richards

Comments: Duncan Kenneth Vosbury served in the Army's 7th Aviation Division - the "LUCKY SEVENS" at Dongduchon (sp?) Korea from April 1961 through July 1963.
As with many veterans, some contacts with good friends are lost over time, but they are never forgotten.
If you recall Duncan Kenneth Vosbury during your time there, I would be grateful for a response. I am Lisa Vosbury and Duncan is my father. He is alive and well here in New York State, after retiring as a NEW YORK STATE TROOPER, still telling stories and remembering some of his friends, BEN ROLLINS, THOMAS GOTO & HERBERT FUNK to name a few. He would like to hear from you, but since he is terrible with the computer, I am the one put to this task.
Thanks for any and all help, Lisa Vosbury - N.Y.S. Trooper -following in my dads footsteps

Comments: I am the owner of a 1952 M38A1 Jeep with the markings of the 7th Infantry Artillary Division on the front bumper. The Jeep is 95% original, in fact it's still riding on 3 original tires dated 1952. I ran into a Korean War veteran at the gas station last week, and he shared a story of how a similar jeep saved his butt once after hitting a mine. I just wanted to let you know that after 51 years it's still running strong.

Comments: I am the eldest son of (then)Maj. Robert Low who was the aviation officer for the 7th during part of your service there. He died last Tuesday and I am attempting to pull together some biographical information concerning his tour in Korea. He will be buried at Arlington with full honors on December 27 having received about a dozen combat decorations from a Silver Star down during his tour with the 7th. If you knew him and had any anecdotes or any information at all I would appreciate hearing from you. I am preparing remembrances for his wake at my house after his burial. If you knew him and are near DC you would be an honored guest at our celebration of his life. Rob Low Robert J. Low, Jr.

Comments: I was a pilot in the 7th Division Artillery in 1951 and 1952 in the above mentioned locals. We had two Aviation Sections, one was the Division Headquarters Aviation Section and the other was the Artillery Aviation Section. I was assigned to the 57th Field Artillery Battalion. We in the Artillery functiond as Division Artillery Aviation. As I remember it, we worked harder than the Division Aviation personnel. Almost all of our flying was performed north of the battle line. I flew over 700 hours during my six months at the front and then they rotated me to the 2nd Logistical Command in Pusan. By giving pilots six months at the front with four points per month they could keep us in country for a full year because in our rear assignment, we only received two points per month. It took 36 points to return stateside. But, that was O.K. because we were not in as much danger as we were at the front.
I returned to Korea in 1969 and commanded the 7th Division Aviation Battalion from April until December. We could not have a command for longer than six months because we had so many pilots who had never had a command and that was a prerequisit for higher command. I spent the last few months as the Civil Affairs Officer and was reassigned to Heidelberg Germany.
I am still in touch with some of our pilots and one observer. The latter and I returned to korea last October in the Korea revisit program and we really enjoyed it. Korea has really changed since the war.
Now for some bragging rights. I entered the military as a private in 1943, went through the Aviation Cadet program, was commissioned a 2LT in 1944 and spent 6 1/2 years in the USAF as a fighter pilot.. Unfortunately, I was in the training command and could not do what I wanted to most which was to fly fighters. Most of my time as an instructor was as a P-40 Instructor. I transferred to the Army, as a pilot in 1949 and retired as a Regular Army full colonel in 1978. I really enjoyed my service time, even the time in Korea and Vietnam.

He is interested in any information your might want to send him
regarding people serving in the air section between Nov 52 and Jul 53.
I am uncertain concerning the unit designation of our Aviation Company.
My impression is that it was attached to Division Hqs. I know that
the aviators and maintenance personnel were assigned directly to the
unit. The "back seaters" or observers initially all served as forward
observers on the line and then some were either attached to the unit or
were reassigned. I think our designation was 7th Infantry Division Air
Section, but am not sure.
Thanks
