Lou Gillespie and Jack Kilpatrick are very excited that they were able to get a company that was willing and able to produce this specialty item to our specific requirements. This ring was never going be offered to any (ZOO) 78th members or anyone else. To Us, a Dream Come True! They will be produced out of stainless steel to keep cost affordable. The more members that commit to the purchase of this beautiful Battalion Ring the better opportunity the members will have in getting a cost reduction based upon quantity. Please give us a commitment of whether you would honestly buy at least one if we have these created. Lou and I will have at least two made no matter what the cost. The price will be very high compared to what we will be able to purchase these for if we have at least 10 orders, hopefully there will be more of the 78th members that will commit to a purchase of at least one ring. We have finally received a price quote of $129.00 for the purchase of a minimum of 10 Rings; the $350.00 fee has already been waived because of this. The manufacture has implied that we could get a real good cost reduction if we can get purchase commitments of at least 30-40 rings, again the more the better it is for all. We dont know exactly how much the cost savings will be at the 30-40 ring number but we are requesting for it to be around $100.00 or less. So for us all, the hope is that there are at least 30-40 or more of the 78th Engineer battalion members who have served previously at the ZOO that they would commit to owning one of these beautiful reminders to wear proudly as one who served at Rhineland Kaserne, Ettligen Germany in the 7th Brigade, 78th Engineer Battalion.
