Comments: MY UNIT MOSTLY SUPPORTED 5TH MARINE REGIMENT, WE WERE IN A SEVEN MILE LONG VALLEY, WITH SOYANG-GANG RIVER TO OUR LEFT, AND JUST ABOUT FOUR MILES DUE EAST OF NORTERN RIM OF PUNCHBOWL.. THE 105'S OF THE 11TH MARINES WERE SCATTERED THROUGHOUT VALLEY. THE 196TH , A 155 HOW UNIT WERE AT REAR OF VALLEY. FIFTH MARINE C.P WAS BEHIND AND ACROSS MSR FROM US. AT ONE TIME THERE WERE TWO SEARCH-LIGHT TRUCK ON THE HILL BEHIND.WE HAD TWO FRIENDLY FIRE ATTACKS . ONE BY NAVY CORSAIRS, HIT MARINE FUEL DUMP, AND ONE BY JETS, CAUSING ONE BUNKER TO CAVE IN IN FOURTH SECTION KILLING CHIEF OF SECTION....ANY ONE REMEMBER?
