Comments: I am a friend of Marlin E Gipson who served from Nov 1952, Dec 1953 at Kumwae Valley just North of the 38 th parrell. He was a switchboard operator until his ears were damaged he went from B Battery Bastard Unit to the 75th h/q sq. His military records were burned in ST Louis as I am sure some of yours were. They had a burgarly/fire and lost their home and any other records in 1980, He remembers a Knight and a Tolbert, we have a picture of him and 3 other guys standing in front of the Kumwua Valley sign. He said there was a guy that drown in the bathing pool while he was there. If any one remembers any of this or has other info that might help please contact us. We are trying to get his VA elgibility set up with his declining health. Thank you so much and may GOD BLESS each of you.

Comments: commanded by capt. Mark E. Rivers. started out in #1 gun section there 12 days and in the hospital 28 days in osaka japan. then they sent me back into the outfit in the detail section. assigned to c2 3/4 ton truck in the winter of 52-53 my truck was the only one to run because no one else pulled maintenance. capt asked why my truck was the only one started when coming back from the mess hall i said just stick around and watch how they pull their maintenance.

Comments: My father, 1LT Eph Martin, served in the 75th FA BN as an areial forward observer, aviator, during the later stages of the Korean War. He flew an L19 Bird Dog with a red stripe on the tail/ small unit insignia beneth it. I was curious if anyone out there knew my father. He was part of a two-aircraft aviation section.
My hat is off to all who did their part and served in that war.
Very Respectfully,
LTC Ted Martin 10th Cavalry

Comments: Enlisted US Army in October 1951 Basic at Camp Chaffee, Arkansas. some time at Fort Sill. Made it to Korea in October 1952 to B 75th. Went to serve howitzers of 2nd Rocket in October while they were at Chorwon, I believe. Our battery also sent two howitzers forward right across the road from the 2nd Rocket in the winter-spring of 1953. Dropped a round on my little finger winter of 1953 loading a trailer in the dark, so I had a light duty slip for about four months. Went through the hospital (another non-combat injury) at Pusan; asked if I could type, so I spent a few months typing up the rosters for ships bringing guys back. Typed myself on in September. Enlistment was over in September 1953. Still too young to buy booze when I got back, so my mother had to go to the store for her veteran son. Followed by college and 43 years (and counting) in education. I'm glad I got back, but I'm still glad I went. What I want now is a 1950 OD Ike Jacket big enough to hold me.
