Keywords: My name is Mike O'Grady and I am trying to find out more about my uncle, James E. O'Grady. The news clipping I have from his death announcement says he served in the 84th Combat Engineers, but the records on this site say the 74th. He died at Kum Gong Ni in 1953 while attempting to rescue a Korean national whose boat had capsized in the Imjin River. His body was recovered April 22, 1953. He entered the service in October 1951 and was shipped to Korea in June 1951. This is really all I know about him. His name is listed on the Korean War Veterans Memorial in Buffalo, NY. His mother, sister and brother (my dad) are all dead, and I don't have any other records of his life. I am very proud of him and his service, and would like to know more. Do you have any other info on him, or could you point me in the right direction for tracking more down? I would be happy with any info whatsoever. I tried to get a copy of his records from the Military Personnel Records, but was informed that they were most likely destroyed in the 1973 fire.
Thanks so much for any help that you can offer, and have a great day!

Comments: In the back of our warehouse, we found a couple of stamp sets (for stamping metal, dog tags, etc.) for William Feversham, 1st Sgt., Co. C, 74th Infantry. I was surprised to see that his name was in one of the inquiries in this list. Would anyone be interested one of these stamping sets? They aren't cheap, but if anyone knows him or is related to him, I thought these might be interesting to have. Thanks!

He would be interested in contacting some members of this old unit.
Particularly any living in the New England area. My father, Lester M.
Fleming was in Korea from May 1951 to Aug. 52.I contacted an individual
from the 74 Heavy equipment engineering Bn and this unit is apparently
not it.
As I said earlier his unit was attached to 9th Corp, and it's
commanding officer was a Col. Johnstone if that is any help.
Thank You Very Much
