Comments: Arrived in Korea cir. Jan. 15th 1951, and departed cir. Sept. 1951. I started out with the company maint. shop, located around the Suwan and Seoul area, and later was transfered to Div. forward, as assistant to the Div. Maint. Officer. My job there was collecting information from all Division units, re. condition and location of all 25 Infantry vehicle, whether in friendly or hostile territory, and reporting this info. back to Div. H.Q. I don't remember the names of any of guys there, but I did have a Korean "house-boy" named Kim Yung Shik. He was about 12 years old in 1951. I was one of the old men there at age 23. I had signed up in the Enlisted Reserve when I was discharged in 1949 after returning from a tour in Germany.Got called back in Sept.1950.

Comments: The unit arrived in Korea on 13th of July 1950. I joined them in Mason on or about 11 Aug 1950. I must say hello to an old friend that found me after 50 years, Bruce Richards, otherwise known as "Trigger" since he shot a hole in the roof over my head while playing with a Russian Burp Gun. I'm glad he missed.
Arrived incountry at the 25th Replacement Co. coming from Sasebo, Japan on the second best of a fleet of two ferries called the Yasha Maru into Pusan on 1400 hrs on 11 Aug 1950 as a raw Pfc One of only two assigned to Ordnance, everyone else went Infantry. In a year I traveled from Pusan almost to the Yalu River and back again. Left Malmi for home at 0630 on 23 Aug 1951.

I don't know if this is the proper place to start or not - but I'm not
sure where else to go. I got a call from my Dad yesterday asking for
help finding a Japanese friend. He was in the 25th Infantry Division,
725 Ordnance stationed outside of Osaka from 1949 until 1951 when he
was sent to Korea. His friend's name is Yuko Arima. He can not recall
the name of the village he was stationed in and we've been told if he
can remember the address there is a good chance we can find her. Any
help would be greatly appreciated.

I would like to hear from any one of the men who were in the first
detachment on mount Fuji when the war started. I would like to find my
friend Yuko Arima (Judy) if posible.
The 25'th Division was in Japan When I arrived. I got to Japan in Jan.
of 1949. The 725 Ord. was in two detachments.
I was on the slopes of Mt. Fuji when the war started. We were on
manuvers and had been there for about a month. I belive it was on a
Sunday when we got the news about the invasion of South Korea.
We loaded on a train and 10 days later we were in Korea. I was there a
year and 3 days. That was about a year too long. If you know of any way
I can search for Yuko please let me know.
I was in the instrament repair section. Our shop truck was #69. Some of
the guys in the section were Collins, Ortiz, Hood and Davis.
Any information would be great! If you can help me, call me any time
collect!
Thanks,
Allen
