Comments: The 504th had a great compliment of Officers, Non-coms and Enlisted men who all worked together to get their jobs done and to keep our trucks rolling 24 hours a day.
I was Sgt. Whites Mess Hall Driver for a while and then was the company clerk and mailman. I also played ping pong at the officers club and the elisted mens Club. I played volleyball and softball. I was in the 504th from November 1951 to January 4, 1953 when i was rotated home.
Keywords: I arrived in Wonju, Korea in November 1951 and was assigned to the 504th Transportation Truck Company under the Command of Captain Clarence L. Walk. In December/January we broke camp and moved to a town called Sok-cho-ri which was on the Sea Of Japan and where LST's arrived from Japan with various and assorted supplies for the front line troops. In the summer of 1952 we were awarded the Unit Commendation for the work we did in transporting the First Marine Division from the West Coast to the East Coast of Korea as we were placed on TDY for two weeks and for all the good driving we did to bring those guys up front the supplies that they needed.
