Curan's sleeping bag was blown up. This incident happened on the 38th parallel, some where east of Panmunjon, before the armistice was signed.

From: Noble County, Southern Ohio

The name Howard Butts sounds familar to me?
This is in response to below message posted in 2005
Post: I am looking for anyone who may have served with my Dad Howard Butts. I believe he was in the 64th. I know he drove tanks and he would have been in Korea from Dec. 1953 to late 1955. He is from West Virginia. He often tells a story of how one Christmas Eve he almost drove the tank over a cliff if that helps anyone remember. He would love to talk to anyone out there that might have been in his unit.

Comments: I am looking for "Jack Dale" or "Jack Smith" who was posted in Germany in 1957 in Karlsruhe. Mind you even those names could be wrong but that is the only information I have. Perhaps if I tell the short story, maybe somebody remembers him. He was with 2 or 3 other soldiers the day in March 1957 when he came to DURMERSHEIM to meet up with some girls to party. Apparently he had a girlfriend (who has passed away a few years ago) in Durmersheim who he was visiting frequently and perhaps left back to the US in either late 1957 or Spring of 1958. Crossing my fingers.

Comments: Email Scammers May Approach You
I recently received an email from someone saying they were in London, England, indicated they wanted to contact me about my deceased Uncle. This person is a SCAMMER and DO NOT correspond with them.
They are in Rwanada and these scams are very common and they say they need your banking information to wire you money. DO NOT provide any information.
These people are likely monitoring these sites and looking at names of deceased member in this forum. John

Comments: My original posting from years and years ago seems to be gone.
My Dad was Captain Daniel P. Juraschek. He led the 64th Heavy Tank Batallion across the 38th parallel during the Korean War. If you were with those first Americans to cross, you served with my Dad.
He is alive, but unable to relate any information about Korea or his service there, and his children and grand kids would love to know anything.
When he would talk, years ago, he would only say how proud he was of the men he served with, and that they represented America's finest. He was truly proud of his men.
I would love to hear from you. Thank you.

Thomas Nelson wrote on 2005-08-11 00:00:00.0
Comments: Looking for any who may have served with my Grandfather, SFC Charles 'Bud' Church. He was scout with HQ. He served from late 51 to early 53 in Korea. Spent part of this time as a guard at Koje Do POW Camp. Most of his time was on the line near the Imjin River, or at least that's the area he mentioned most often. He mentioned a friend from the war named John Morrow, a fellow scout. Please contact me if you have any information that would help me or if you knew him. He is no longer with us but I want to build a tribute book for my grandmother to commemorate his life.
Thank you to those who served so faithfully in the Korean War, or 'unpleasantness' (as my Grandpa put it), and for those who continue to serve our nation.
respectfully,
Tom Nelson
