It was a US army ship.We surveyed the Marshall@ Caroline Islands I was a motor mac and small boat operator.We had nine enlisted men@ one officer.The ships crew were civilians (japanese)The ships Capt.@Cheif Engr. were American civilians The 71st engr,was attached to the 64th engr.Topo.Bn.Toyko,in the Isetan Dept.Store.I cant find anything anywhere about the 71st Engr.The time Jan 51 to June 1953.I would like to hear from anyone in the 71st Thanks John

Comments: I am seeking anyone who may have served with or knew my husband, I do not know a lot about early military life. He passed away June 21, 2004. He had a tattoo on his left forearm of a dragon he had gotten in Hawaii on layover before going to Japan. Does anyone have info on the tattoo design? My daughter wants to do a drawing, but we can not remember all the details. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Ms Wanda Burroughs

Comments: I served with the 95th repro co from Feb of '52 until July of '54. We were first housed in the Isetan Dept Store in Shinjuku and later moved to a new "campus" near Jujo station. Most of the time that I was there we were preparing maps of the Korean peninsula and Manchuria. We also produced the packet of Armistice maps that were used during the ceasefire hearings at Panmunjon. Our operations Sgt was M/Sgt Petroski (sp?) from Hawaii. Also a CWO whose name I believe was Searfoss.

Keywords: Looking for any info I can find for my uncle about people who served with hin in korea fro 1950 to 1952. He was in the 8223rd Eng. Map Distribution Detachment with the 64th Engineers. Any info or even where I may find it would be great!!

Comments: Dear Sir,
My father served with the 66th topograhical engineer unit in Korea. I am looking for any information regarding their dates of service, duties, etc. Any help that you can offer would be appreciated. Most of his fellow soldiers were older than he was therefore it is doubtful that any are still living. However, I seek any information and will be glad to share what little I know with others. His name was Fred Franklin Wetherbee, he was the company clerk, a corporal at the time. Thank you in advance for your help.

Comments: I have been wondering what happened to the 62nd Engineers Topographic Co.

Some of the names I remember were Lonnie Kirkendol from Tennessee, and Eli Swan from Missippi. There was an old master seargent that was in charge of the unit I was assigned to. He must have had 30 years in when we went to Korea.
