Comments: Looking for anyone who may have served with my father Cpl. Edward Kreis during the Korean War. Unsure of the exact unit he was with, just that he was with a 105mm Howitzer group. If the name sounds familiar please feel free to contact me. Regards.

Keywords: Hello - I am the daughter of a 625th Field Artillery veteran named Angelo (Ange or Angie) E. Battistelli. Dad was upgraded from Private to Deputy Sergeant on Sept. 17t 1952. His certificate was signed by a Louis R. Van De Velde (Lieutenant Colonel). Dad was in Korea for two years. We are hoping there may be others out there that will remember him. Dad is doing fine at 79 and we would really really love to hear from any veterans who served with him or their family members. Hope to hear from you (phone #313-850-1150). Best regards, Karen Battistelli Wood

Comments: I collect war letters, diaries, and slide photos. I just bought 24 slides photographs that were shot by a member of 625th field artillery. One slide has a bunch of those guys posing with a shell. The shell is painted with the inscription "625th field artillery. 5,000th" sound familiar? any of you guys remember commemorating the occasion of the 5,000th shell shot? also, the slides include photos of a VIP visiting a camp. I dont know for sure, who the VIP is. was it secretary of state dean acheson?

Comments: Well, its finally complete. The Boys of Fifty - the history of the 625th Field Artillery Battalion, 40th Infantry Division is now available. Sorry, it has taken so long. The more than 250 pages covers the battalion from its beginnings in Southern California following World War II, call up for the Koran War, training at Camp Cooke, service in Japan, combat in Korea and return home. Includes pictures, a battalion roster of more than a thousand names, casualty list, and battery TO&Es for a light field artillery battalion of the 1950's. The Boys of Fifty can be obtained at Lulu.com. When you get to the Lulu.com home page, type "625th" or "The Boys of Fifty" in the 'Search For' window. This bring up the page with the book for sale.
