Comments: I was one of two Segeants who joined the 618th in Wonsan as replacements in early December.By the time we found the Company, the Chinese had effectively isolated the forces in Wonsan. After a couple of days, we left Wonsan for Hamhung along with the 3rd Armour Division. After about sixteen hours (I think) we arrived at an unpaved aifield (Yon-po?)and immediately established a medical facility. Before the first tent was up, a long line of ambulances arrived; there would be many more before we left just ahead of the Chinese. The 100s of casualties were triaged, cleaned up, and fed and loaded on planes.

Comments: I'm looking for other members of the 618th Medical Clearing Company, who served in Korea during the Dec,1950 - Sep,1951 period. I landed in Hungnam(N Korea)during the first part of Dec, and was evacuated prior to the 25th and sent down to Puson. The 618 worked its way north for a few weeks/months, and then sent me with an "all volunteer" platoon on north. When I left in Sep,1951, we were near the middle of Korea, on a river just south of the 38th line.
