Comments: I am looking for anyone who has information on Edward Morris. We were in Korea together in the 4.2 Mortar squad, 5th RCT,24th Division, early 1951 thru Spring of 1952. I am sure he was from Georgia, and I think he mentioned being from a tobacco growing area.

Looking for a friend who was our forward observer. Only know his last name was Delgado from N.Y. Note from wife: 8/29/03 Because of your site he decided to look up a friend he had in Korea in 1951 and 1952.They served during the war in the Fifth Regimental Combat Team, a heavy mortar company attached to the 24th Infantry Division. He found 23 Edward Morris in Georgia. He found it was the one that lived in Adel, Georgia. We got to visit them in Georgia and they visited us in East Texas. My husband died with cancer this month. I just wanted to tell you that Joe M Northen spent many hours logged on to your web site.

Comments: I am am trying to help my father locate members of unit and old friends he served with in Korea. He was drafted 12/2/52 and was discharged on 11/3/54.

My father (John H. Chester) was in basic training at Ft. Knox (12/52-4/53). He was on the front line after replacing Turkish Troops (6/53-11/53). Was near the 38th when the cease fire was signed. He was a machine gunner (small .38 cal).

After coming off the front after the cease fire, he was assigned to the 22nd Signal Corps. He was stationed in Seoul under command of a Maj. Pugh. He worked in the Film Exchange - Sgt. Cromwell was in charge of Film Exchange.

He was then transferred to Chun-Chon until 10/54 and eventually DC'd home.

Looking for anyone who was there with him and may remember him.

Thanks,
John

Comments: My memory of this period is very sparse. I got a Purple Heart in Apr, 1953 at the Punchbowl. If anybody remembers a harmonica player, that was me. I think I was in L company, but I'm not sure.
