Comments: I am looking for information with information concerning my Father (Gerald H. Brooks). He was assigned as a Platoon Leader in C CO, 1st BN, 5 CAV Rgt, 1st CAV Div. I believe he was assigned in late 1951 or early 1952 until late 52 or 53. He has pictures of Chitosi II, and spoke some about Koji-do and Hokkido. I am looking for information on "C" Companies movements and maybe some of the things they were involved in during that period.

Comments: I am interested in Company B, 5th Regiment, 1st Cavalry. Can anyone give me info on where they were during 1952-1953, and whether this company had a sniper platoon? If so, was this platoon active in Korea during 1952-1953? Thanks in advance for any help with these questions.

Comments: On July 18, 1950, 0500, Dog Company (5000 troops landed in Pusan, Korea, via landing craft vehicle from the naval ship Cavalier.
After landing, troops immediately moved inland. The night of July 18, 1950, we began receiving enemy fire and through the morning of July 19. Troop movement continued to Taigu, up and down the mountains and across rivers Han Nak Tong, Taigu I believe.
I believe most of company soldiers were wounded or KIA in the first and second weeks of fighting. I heard we lost about two-thirds of the company of 200 men. I myself was wounded on August 1, 1950, approx. 0500.
Dog Company Mortars: Cpl Hollywood, Cpl Harris.
William King, from New Jersey, 75 millimeter recoil rifle in Korea.
I would like to hear from anyone who has information related to our D. Company.
Use my son's e-mail for messages or call me at 520-458-2393.

Comments: The 1st cav,div,5th.inf reg 2nd batalion heavy mortor Company, were some of the first renforcement unseasoned troops to be sent to KOrea,WE didn!t all get wiped out, true a lot of us did,I seen our Company go from a company to platons, and sometimes to squads, our 4.2 mortors were the largest mortors there, every hot spot needed us, so we were split up as needed, at times we fought alongside the Turks, the 7thcav,the Marines and whoever was on our side. Some of our company was rotated back to the states, after General Mc Carthur pined awards on us about december of 1950,At Seoul KOREA,but some of us stayed when the war started all over again, and we fought for another year+I want reconition for myself and the men that fought with me.

Comments: Looking for anyone who might have served with my father's brother. Dad has submitted DNA and is interested in finding anyone who might have known his older brother. Jim was wounded on August 19, 1950 and sent back to the line where he was one of three on November 20, 1950 who did not come back from battle. We have never heard or read another word about him since that day.
I am looking for any information on behalf of my father. He lost his older brother, James Benjamin Foggin in Nov. '50 (MIA). We know he served with a LT. Ledbetter (1st Cav, 5th). We also know he was wounded on August 19, 1950. My Dad is a career Army vet and would like to hear from those who might have served with his older brother.
Keywords: Thought to have served with a LT. Ledbetter.

Comments: Jack Farmer is my father. He only recently began to talk about his very brief experience in Korea. He was sent by HQ to lead Company A -- and lasted only 12 hours. Of many things that haunt him, the worst is that he can not remember the name of his men who died as he was wounded. Can anyone help? Where do I find a list of war dead?
