Comments: The general heading for this unit as appears in this page is listed as: 593 Transportation Truck Rd Railway. When I was a member, fro, Dec. 1950- Ser 1951, It was known as 593rd Transportation Traffic Regulating Detachment, under 3rd TMRS.
We were stationed at the end of the rails in Pusan, So. Korea , in the then main railroad station in Pusan.
We acted as dispatchers for troop trains and supply trains heading North.
I was later moved up the West coast, on the rail line, about 40 miles North of Pusan, to a little town of Hyundia. We ran a RTO (Rail Transportation Office) from the railroad depot in Hyundia.
Trucks and Ducks brought ammunition from ships out in the Yellow Sea to our loading areas for shipment to other RTOs further up the line.
Any one out there that may have been part of this type of operation????
