Comments: Found this site by accident and was thrilled. Would love to find some old friends from our days at K6. We were originally at 8th Army Headquarters in Seoul before being moved south to K6. We wore a pocket patch that had a skull in the center with 581st at the top of the patch and Vagabonds at the bottom, Would love to get on as a memento. But most importantly are any of you guys still out there?

Comments: This evening, I met Thomas Milner at a book store and spoke with him about an hour. I was so intriguied by his enthuiasm, and all of his interesting stories concerning being stationed in Calfornia, that I had to research.
I am susposed to meet him on Feb 5th, I want to make sure that I have the correct Thomas Milner. He told me that he was 82 years old. Please advise ASAP if this matches your Thomas Milner

Ted: the 581st radio relay co. is a signal unit. From the information that I
took off your Army listings. The unit was in the 7th infantry in the invasion
of Inchon.
I never knew that we attached to the 7th. I understood that we were a
bastard outfit and were used any where the 8th army needed us.We provided the
relay stations between Seoul and Tague with link down to Pusan.
In the summer of 52.some of us were sent to set up communicatins for the
ROK army which was engaged in operation RAT KILLER. Our base of operation
was located in a town called Namwon.
We were there about two months till it was over.I hope this info. will
help you out on our quest
Thanks for a great website

I served in Korea from the Inchon invasion to June of 1952. I was in
the Signal Corp. It was a bastard company attached to the 10 Corps
and 8th Army.
I was in the 581 Signal Relay Company. I operated radio relay stations
at many locations in North and South Korea.
We landed at Inchon, Wonson and evacuated at Hungnam.

I suppose this is an old story but here goes anyway. I was just browsing
today when all of a sudden the 581st Radio Relay Co. name caught my eye,
WOW was I surprised when reading the message, it was a call for help in
finding people that were in the 581st. The message was from Cpl. Paul
Tyler's son Jack.
Here is a list of names (no addresses) of one of the hard working teams
that worked for several different divisions in 1950 and 1951. I would
like to hear from all of them.
