Comments: Hi together
I urgently need your help. I´m looking for a soldier being stationed at North Point in Kriegsfeld, Germany during 1951 / 52. I´m a desperate grand child looking for her grandpa. I don´t know his name but the only thing I know is, that he was stationed at North Point during that time and got acquainted to my grand mom, Erika Glas. She became pregnant and before my father was born on August 10th in 1952, he had to go back to the US. Maybe someone of you can remember the story and help me with my research. My Dad´s name is Roland Frank but I think it should be Frank Roland, which maybe indicates that his father was named Frank. Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks Melanie

I involved myself in the ritualistic indoctrinations of newbies and the destruction of anyone who questioned our self proclaimed authority. We were so close to the brink of insanity. We were on the top of he world. I would like to have any members of the first platoon 86-92 contact me at duneman67@aol.com. I want to get together for a weekend in a central location. Feel free to write and connect me with any brothers in psychosis from the 1st plt. Its time fellas. MSG Ybarra just retired. Now dont you feel old. SFC Larry Sargeant retired. I know Alf is in Philly driving trucks. I have had a few hits off the time capsule.

Ft McClellan Alabama. 18 of us were sent from the same basic training platoon to Northpoint all at once. Lots of memories on that site. I still believe that tower 5 was haunted! I still have the Tower Rat cartoons I use to draw of the platoon.

Comments: I was at Northpoint in the 558th during 1972 - 1973. Would enjoy hearing from anyone from that era. CO's were Naylor then Lane. 1st SGT's Garrett then "Chuckles" Terry. I did some time in the towers then was Company Clerk. A couple of my roomates were Les Gregor, Mike White. Another good friend Mike "Fast Eddy" Dean. Bought my first motorcyle there and remember cold and drunken rides back for the gasthaus.

Comments: I remember writing this poem while on Tower #6 one night.
North Point Confinement Center is a place you won't want to go. It's a place out in Germany, back in the hills where the snow always goes. Well we all work in a wooden box . Just sit there and stare alot. No we don't get to (read alot). Break the rules and you're sure to get caught. North Point Confinement Center is a place where you'll lose your mind. It's a place where they (mess) with you up in the towers until you finally go blind. For lunch and for dinner they let us unwind. To a tray full of (food) in thirty minutes time. Then it's back to the hill again for another four hours.

Comments: I was sitting in my office the other day, surrounded by my Army memorabilia, and got to thinking about The Point, where I served from 11/89-11/91 with the 558th. I stumbled upon this and a couple other Kreigsfeld-related websites, and the pictures posted on one such site (http://www.angelfire.com/tx5/kregsfeld/pictures) gave me the chills - the pictures look like they are from the early 70s, but the place looked EXACTLY THE SAME when we were there in the late 80s. I cannot believe it has already been about 15 years since I was stationed at The Point and how much the world has changed since then. For as miserable as the duty there was for an MP, in retrospect we actually had a pretty decent time there.
