LAPLANTE wrote on February 27, 2007 City and State: CANTERBURY NH Unit: 543 RD AMMUNITION SUPPLY DEPOT Service or Relationship: AIR FORCE VETERAN Comments: I have photos of an army ammo dump blowing up during daylight hours, sometime in the spring or summer of 1951, its location was about 30 miles or so from Pusan,just 5 to 8 miles east from K9 Airbase where I was stationed and got several good shots of that happening from the top of a hill behind our dump,looking towards the east in the general direction of Masan; It was quite a sight ; ... I just recieved his military records and he was with Ammo Det 73d Ord Bn 2d USAMC (Med) Ft Carson Colorado. He enlisted in 1956 and was a PFC E-3 at the time of his discharge. His MOS was 411.10 Ammo Storage Specialist. He attended Ord School in Aberdeen Maryland for 10 weeks in 1956. He passed away in 1995, and my teenage son is very interested in learning more about his military career. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Keywords: |
