I shiped out to the states in Jan. 1961. The Co of the 651st was 1st Lt. Charles A. Emrick Jr., the Co of 516th Med Co. which was the clearing co. was Capt. Gallagher, the Co. of 226th Med Co. which was the collecting Co. was 1st Lt. Kenneth V. Wolters and the Co of the 52 Med. Bn was Lt. Col. Ellis Arkus. Keywords: |

He was drafted in 09/1951 in Corona, Ca. and was assigned to L Co. 160th Inf. Regt. 40th Infantry Division before being deployed to Korea where he was assigned to the 52nd Medical Battalion. Unfortunately my family has no records of medals or awards my grandfather recieved if any while in Korea other than the ones awarded for war time operations during the conflict. Any information is appreciated. He attended his Medical Training in San Francisco, Ca. if that helps anyone. Louis "Doc" Rodriguez passed away on 01/08/10. We supplied medics to those units which had no permanent medics. My CO was 2nd Lt. Kenneth V. Wolters. We were assgnd to a Kaserne in Ludwigsburg, Ger. whose name I can't remember. I'd like to add some pics, but my xwife tossed them. Our Bn Cmdr, Col. Akers, had his mil veh stolen by a member of the Bn. He was apprehended near the Checz(?) border. While stationed there I served under the command of Roland Wong, MD, CPT, MC. I have lost contact with a close friend who happened to be a KATUSA. When I left Korea at the end of 1986 he was a Corporal and his name was Lee, Jung H. He would be about 41 42 years old now.
