Comments: I am looking for any information or stories of my grandfather, Louis "Doc" Rodriguez who was stationed in the Kapyong area of Korea as a medic. He was drafted in 09/1951 in Corona, Ca. and was assigned to L Co. 160th Inf. Regt. 40th Infantry Division before being deployed to Korea where he was assigned to the 52nd Medical Battalion. Unfortunately my family has no records of medals or awards my grandfather recieved if any while in Korea other than the ones awarded for war time operations during the conflict. Any information is appreciated. He attended his Medical Training in San Francisco, Ca. if that helps anyone. Louis "Doc" Rodriguez passed away on 01/08/10. On that day Our Nation lost a hero and is a sadder place.

Comments: I was assgnd to the 226 Medical Collecting Co of the 52nd from 1958-1961. We supplied medics to those units which had no permanent medics. My CO was 2nd Lt. Kenneth V. Wolters. We were assgnd to a Kaserne in Ludwigsburg, Ger. whose name I can't remember. I'd like to add some pics, but my xwife tossed them. Our Bn Cmdr, Col. Akers, had his mil veh stolen by a member of the Bn. He was apprehended near the Checz(?) border. I was the Bn postal clerk for a time.

Comments: My father served in Korea from '53 to '55. As far as I know, he was near Seoul the entire time. I am attempting to make contact with anyone who knew him during that time period. His nickname was Klunk and he was from Ollie, Iowa.

Thanks for any assistance.

Comments: I was stationed with the 219th Medical Detachment, when it was first reactivated as the 219th, in 1986. While stationed there I served under the command of Roland Wong, MD, CPT, MC.

I have lost contact with a close friend who happened to be a KATUSA. When I left Korea at the end of 1986 he was a Corporal and his name was Lee, Jung H. He would be about 41 – 42 years old now. Anyone who would know of him or have any way of contacting him please let me know.
