Comments: Fellow Alumni: 10/20/2009
I will be sending a News Letter in Jan. or Feb., about the 2010 Reunion. The tentative dates will be between June 2 & 19, 2010. Put these dates aside. Ft. Lewis, WA/ Seattle-Tacoma area. I see all these flags in people's yards. They say we support our troops, but do they really support the physically. The way I see it is if you want to show support, go visit with the troop. Tell them in person that you support them. The easiest way to show your support is the make plans to attend our 2010 Reunion at Ft. Lewis, WA. You will not only get the chance to meet with the troops and officers, but to talk with them and break bread with them. We will meet with each company and have the chance to tell them your experiences and hear theirs. Last year many of the Alumni brought pictures and tools that they used during their service. All the details will be mailed to you in Jan.or Feb. 2010.
And remember if you can reads this, thank a teacher. If you are reading it in English, thank a soldier. Semper Constans, Tommy Thompson National Co-ordinater 51st Signal Bn Alumni Asso.

Comments: I have pictures of the Grand opening and from the Air of Hill 651 site, Plus News paper articals from the Star & Strips military news Paper. I am able to tell you a lot of ground news that happen there since I was there. I belive maybe a movie or book could be made from this history of hill 651 in the year of 1960 to 1961. We started on the other side of the mountain with PE75 Generators in a small 4 man tent. The Temp. was around 18 Degrees minus. That was cold, and later in 1960 we build the hilacopter Pad on the other side where we where blasting with dinamite to move rock and bolders. Nearly killing ourselfs from the falling debre. The Quanset Hutt was built after the helo pad and than we build the Generator shack. Well if anyone is interested on the pictures and the Name of us who started the site let me know.
