512th MP Co

Looking for men who served with the unit during it's stationing at Pusan.

I served in the 512th M.P. Co., Pusan until there was a reduction in forces. This was due to being assigned to 7th Port Command C, because most of my M.P. time was spent as an investigator and NCOIC of US Army customs, Pusan and Ulsan. They needed more MP's for guard duty, the 7th Port had unlimited space for personnel.

Comments: I have been in this unit over a year and we can not find any history of this unit other than the Supply records. To my knowledge and research this unit was established in 2000, but was known as 512th MP Company. If you can provide me the history of this unit and when 512th MP Company was deactivated and when 18th MP Detachment was activated?

Comments: Please help. My daddy, William Thomas (Bill) Prestidge was an MP in the Korean War. I have pictures of him in uniform with the MP on his arm. In my grandmothers Bible is the following: Purson, Korea 512th M.P. APO 59 c/o P.M. San Francisco, Ca 8074th ASU Trans Truck Bd 296th Trans Truck Bd Does any of this make sense to anyone??? Does anyone know my dad? I'm sorry I don't have more information. He died in 1989. Any help you can give would be so very much appreciated. Thank you in advance
