Comments: I served as operator(civilian employee) of the Q-630 from 1981 to 1993, when the beach ranges were closed. the boat was given to a sea scout unit in the SF bay area. the Q-628 was given to the Berkeley sea scouts about 1990. renamed St. Ambrose, i think. they were probably the last Q-boats in the army's inventory. i have some photos if anyones interested.

Comments: After returning from Korea in April 1954, I went back to Chicago. There I got a job as a deckhand on a privat yacht, which was a rebuilt Qboat just like the one we had in Korea. We sailed down the Missippi river and over to Miami Beach. Then I went back to Chicago. There I married norwegian girl and we returned to Norway 1967 with 3 children. We are planning on visiting Florida next March (2001)
Keywords: I was stationed on Q622, Would be nice to hear from any one who served on that Qboat.
