TIM MANTE wrote on May 30, 2011 City and State: Unit: Service or Relationship: FAMILY MEMBER Comments: In researching my dads Korea history, I thought he was assigned to a Helicopter Unit in Pusan. My dad, Bruce Mante, from the Bronx, NY, was a Jeep and Duece mechanic who later managed the PX in Pusan. I figured this out by reading family letters. I have some old Black and White photos of Dad and some of his buddies in Korea, some of them taken from a helicopter. I now realize that he was probably assigned to the 49th Transport Company, as he was a mechanic. I actually still have his shop manuals for the Willys Jeep and the 2 1/2 ton Duece as well as his military driving manual. Keywords:
