Help Needed from Fellow Riflemen

Column_1_Spacer Column_2_Spacer
Thomas Coyne wrote on 2004-05-31 12:03:54.0

Comments: Fellow Riflemen of the 45th Infantry Division: You and I paid too high a price to allow our government to run rough-shod over us, our children, and our grandchildren, but as with all of you, I thought for some time there was little additional I could do. I was wrong. By age, education and background, I can be Governor of the State of West Virginia. When I am elected I will serve as Governor of the State of West Virginia in an honorable manner. I will serve as you and I served long ago: with dignity, honor and integrity - at which point the corruption will end. I need with your help to achieve this goal. A very strong, militant Mafia-type political structure exists in West Virginia. It has been that way for decades. It is a difficult nut to crack. I need your help to crack it. I need help in gathering over 15,000 signed petition forms. Will you help? You and I can change the corrupt government of West Virginia, thereby benefiting every citizen in the State, their children and grandchildren. As with many of you, I had to leave West Virginia just to get a job, get some training, get something other than Wheeling Bill Lias' Mafia activities. THE GOVERNMENT OF THE STATE OF WEST VIRGINIA SHOULD COYNE OPERATED. Please visit my web site: www.coyne-assoc.com. Please contace me with your offer to help. I can do this job easily, but I cannot do it alone. We stood together 50+ years ago for a reason, for a cause. Please stand with me now! With your help we can and will win this fight. Thank you, Cpl. Thomas J. Coyne Jr., 24 13-th Street, Wheeling, West Virginia 26003 (US52221059).

Comments: My dad was in the 45th DV, 180th Inf Reg, M Co. on a 30.cal Browning at position Doris. He is alive and retired in Vermont. I am just now getting info from him regarding his Korea experience and he has told me he would like to re-connect with anybody he served with. I posted a similiar message on the 180th Inf Reg site as well as this. I have given him several books over the last couple of years on the war and it has jogged his memory quite a bit. I will get more info from him and post updates. Thank you very much for the sacrifices all the vets have given over the years. I read that 1,000 WWII vets a day are dying in the U.S so I figure Korean War vets must be coming close to that. God Bless you all, Eric J. McCusker

Looking For Anyone Knowing Craig M. Brown Served Korean War

Mitchell Brown wrote on 2003-12-09 16:15:10.0

Comments: Hi, I'm looking for anyone who may have known a Craig M. Brown from Ft.Thomas, KY. He fought in Korea sometime beteween 1951&53. I know he knew a guy named Roger Gormley I think and a Korean named or nicknamed Skoshi.

He died Jan. 1st 2000. At least he got to see his grandson and the new millenium. He never talked much about it but I was, and still am fascinated by his service.

I think I remember him saying something about Christmas Hill. He was wounded once in the hand. I think he also went to OTS. He made it to Sgt. but a "weasley"(his words),Lt. or Capt. was asking for a punch in the mouth afer much time fighting at the front. He obliged, and left proudly as he entered, a Private FIRST CLASS. If anyone knows Craig M. Brown and has any stories I'd love to hear them and relay them to the grandson he'll never know.

Thanks, Mitchell Brown

I didn't know him before I was born. But I know the war changed him. War changes people. When one is changed, all persons that they touch are also changed. WAR touched me without me ever being close to it.

My father is Victor Macuga. Any information about him and his experiences would be very well welcomed.

When my sister and I were cleaning out the house, we found tons of pictures from Korea. We knew he served there, but he never talked about it. I am putting a scrapbook together for his grandson Billy and would appreciate any stories about Dad's service in Korea to go into the scrapbook. I do know that one of his buddies was names Leroy Swope. Thanks. Christy

Please remember him in your prayers and hearts.

Staff Ride - Naktong Bulge

Date: Thu, 30 Nov 1995
 mbinder@emh5.korea.army.mil
Subject: Korean War Research

My name is CPT Binder. I am in the United States Army stationd in Taegu,
Korea with the 19th TAACOM. I just have some information to give you as
well as some questions. First the info: my father , COL (ret)John J. Binder
was with the 45th ID in the Korean War. He currently teaches military
history at Kent State University. His expertise is in the Korean War.
As a side note, I was at Fort Lee, Virginia when I heard of the memorial
dedication. I went up for the dedication and was moved not only by the
memorial, but by the vets I came into contact with. So, after driving
for 3 hours back to fort Lee, I called my Dad and told him he still had
time to go. He asked a friend at work for advice. Ray Flynn, a VietNam
vet told him "You have to go, if not for yourself, do it for the guys
that never made it back." So he rode on the train for 20 hours round
trip to be at the dedication. I'll never forget that visit.

Anyway, I would like to offer some help. My Dad's assistance is
available for any research, etc. I'm getting him on E-mail soon. I work
with a major who has up to 150 color photographs from his grandfather.

They cover areas from Pusan to the Hwachon Reservoir.

Now for the help needed. I am doing a staff ride on the first
battle of the Naktong River Bulge. I am looking for any vets involved in
that battle, especially ones that are in the ROK. Any other lead on
texts, videos, etc. would be highly appreciated.

A word of thanks to all the vets that are helping us to "carry the
torch" of the forgetten war.
