INCHON EVACUATION OF 5 JAN 1951 |
| CHARLES P. DURAND wrote on December 25, 2004 City and State: CA Unit: SS MICHAEL J. GOULANDRIS Service or Relationship: - Comments: In late December of 1950, and early January of 1951, I was a crew member of the merchant ship, SS Michael J. Goulandris. Our ship was anchored in Flying Fish Channel at Inchon where we took aboard the DUKWs of your outfit. On 5 Jan 1951, the port of Inchon was closed and we departed with your personnel and the Korean stevedores who were not permitted to return ashore. We carried you back to Yokohama where you disembarked. I would like to hear from anyone who might have been on the ship at that time. Keywords: |
