Comments: During the Korean War he tells me he was with Intelligence but nothing more. In Germany afterwards he says he was with A Troop, 3rd Recon., 8th Cav./Airborne. He tells me it was a special group (8th Cav./Airborne) and did not have many men in it, only 154 jumpers. I've heard him mention buddies named Fox and Spider. His DD-214 is blank. Help?

Comments: hello, my father, Sam Ochoa was in the service during the war in Korea. He is trying to find anyone with information on two of his friends. Their last names are VOIT and Truhas (sp?). He doesnt have first names, but they were in the 3rd Armored Div in Ft Knox, KY in '52, then they went to Ft. Hood, TX in '53 and then overseas to Korea during '53-'54. These men would be in their 70's and he thinks that they lived in the Wisconsin or Michigan area (Twin Cities). Can anyone help me reunite my dad with his buddies or help me find more information on them??

Comments: I'm looking for anyone who might have known my dad, Cpl.William "Billy" Brand from South Dakota. Dad served in Korea from June '52 to July '53. My grandkids will never meet their great grandfather, but I'd like to have them know more about him and would like to learn more myself. Dad didn't talk about Korea. I spent over 30 years as a law enforcement investigator and kept too much to myself...at first. But I wanted my kids and grandkids to know me better. It's the least I can do for my dad as well. ghostwriter2@cableone.net www.lorenbrand.com

Comments: As time passes and memories weaken I am trying to locate a friend of my fathers. E3 Back (Clay or Carl Back) was a close friend of my fathers during a rough period in their respective lives. Mr. Back was from Martin, Kentucky and my father was from Bath County, Kentucky and they both served in the 3rd Armored Division 83rd Recon from 1955 through 1957.
If you could help locate my fathers lost friend before the 50th anniversary I would be greatly thankful. Or, should you know of anyone who could help please pass this notice along.
Thank you in advance for your support and God Bless.

Comments: My father was Lt.Edward T.Leach (O1688455). my sister and I know that he was in actions at Wonsan on 12/9/50 and Tunjon on 2/14/51, because of the orders for decorations he received at those places. We know that he died on 11/1/51 at Pak's Palace. We know little of the circumstances, however, surrounding his capture, time as a POW, or death. He was a member of the 3rd Infantry Division, 3rd Reconnaissance Company, and was in tanks at some point in Korea. Previous to Korea he was in the 101st Airborne in WWII, was a Sgt. then, was discharged, and renlisted shortly before Korea began. If anyone happened to know our father or has information about him, your recollections would be welcome. We have tried to find information from the VA, but apparently his records were destroyed in a fire sometime in the seventies. Thank You, Connie Coleman and Debbie Getz.

Comments: My Father (Gerald,Montana, Reinlasoder) has asked me to put out the word that he is searching for the tank crew that was with Lt. Edward Leach (KIA 04/25/51) I can find the KIA info. on Leach but nothing on the three crew mwmbers who would have been with him. They are: Adams, Ralph S. Maine-Androscoggin County. Boothe, Clyde D. Pennsylvania-Adams County. Chavez, Agapito R. Texas- Anderson County. Worley, Paul B. Virginia- Accomac County. Since I have not been able to find KIA/MIA info on these men I can only assume they got out alive. If anyone knows of them please have them contact my Dad at (406)-768-5420. His mailing address is Gerald Reinlasoder P.O.Box 32 Poplar, Montana. 59255. Dad has heard from quite a few of his old buddies and he has been very pleased by this. Thanks to you all. Iron Triangle to Hamnung
My Father is Gerald C. Reinlasoder, he was a corporal in the 3rd. Inf.
div. 3rd recon.
He served in Korea from 1950 to '51. He was part of the Iron Triangle,
Chosin Res. and the Hamnung retreat.
Recently he has been wondering about some of his buddies that he served
with but hasn't seen since. I did some checking for him and found out
that a Lt. that he knew, Lt. Edward Leach of Geary County, Ks. was
KIA 04/25/51.
Dad says that they were driving tanks when the one that dad was in
experienced engine troubles and they had to stop. Lt. Leach and his
crew went on and were surrounded by the enemy. The report showed that
Lt. Leach was Killed in Hostile action.
Of course there were others involved but dad has no knowledge of what
fate they may have suffered.
If anyone recognizes my Fathers name I would appreciate knowing. My
Father was born, raised and continues to live in Poplar, Montana. He
has also mentioned a paper called "The Front Lines" written by the 3rd.
division. Here are the names of some of his buddies that I have:
1. Homer Richards--possibly from Roanoke, Va.
2. Gerald H. Pinkham--possibly from bangor, ME.
3.Harold Salts---Possibly of Johnson City, TN.
I have a few more that I am attempting to look into. If any Info.
please let me know at:
KReinlasod@aol.com
Thank you very much.
