Comments: I am looking for information on Sgt. Byron "Barney" Moore who was a friend of my mother while she was a WAC. He deployed to Korea in 1952. He called her on R&R in Japan (where she was stationed) in 1953, but they were unable to meet. Stateside he was stationed at FT. Holabird, Maryland before the war. He deployed out of Camp Stoneman, California. He was originally from Pennsylvania. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Looking for someone

Comments: I am having trouble with the VA obtaining my disability benefits. They don't have a record of my service. Unfortunately, the records were burned in a fire in 1973 (so they tell me). I need to find someone who was over there at that time who knew of me in order to prove to the VA that I was actually there. My application for VA benefits has been ongoing for over twenty years and, for the life of me, I cannot understand why the hxxx they don't have some record of me. I get letters from the VA saying they can't find my records. We can find the DNA of a mad cow coming in from Canada to the US but we can't find the records of our own soldiers...this is getting rediculous. I remember my boss at one time was Lt. Tony DeBellis (not sure of the spelling). Hopefully, someone will recognize my name that was over there at the same time and get in contact with me. My health is poor and I can hardly walk with help of walker. I live in a truck camper and am not well financially. Guess by the time the VA verifies that I was in Korea, I will be dead so they won't have to pay me any benefits! Sorry to sound so bitter but this is very frustrating for me that I can find no one to verify that I was there. So, I would appreciate hearing from anyone who can remember Sgt Gordon Dempsey. Thank you.

Comments: I am trying to help out a veteran Larry Hancock. He was in Korea, 1951-1954. We're working on a claim for him. His medical records were destroyed in he "Great" fire. He was WIA (minor) and we are trying to find dates. If anyone remembers this, he had stitches to his lip and had to have teeth replaced along with stitches to his wrist.
