Comments: I am looking for anyone that may have known my brother, he has passed away and now that I am in DAV, I know people that was in the Korean war but I have no clue where my brother was stationed. He was shot and hit with scrap metal when he came home in 1951 before I was born in 1952. He picked up the wounded and dead from the field and his nickname was Bullet

Comments: I served on the DMZ from 1980 thru 1981 I am trying to locate Sgt. Kim Bearclaw, Cpt. William R Wolfe and Sfc. Russell D. Elmore. Comments: Michael Johnson, I was also with the 38th during the tree trimming attack. I was with HHB working in Liason with Capt. Worrel. When the attack happened, the Capt. and I deployed to Camp Hovey and waited it out with our Infantry Unit.

A Battery - Aug 1950 - July 1951

Comments: Hear from anyone who left A Battery of 78th FAB 2nd Armored Div, reassigned to A Battery 2nd ID Fort Lewis, WA.

Transported to Korea via ship, committed to Action 19th Aug 1950.

Was located North of Kunu-ri the night the Chinese attacked. No 3 piece was first hit by fire. Drove truck out.

13 of us left after the battle.

PAUL KEARNEY

Comments: I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who might remember, or know anything about, my uncle, Paul Kearney, who I believe fought with the 38th Field Artillery Battalion, 2nd Division, in Korea in 1950-1951. I believe Paul served as a meteorologist in the HQ Battery. He physically survived the passage through the Gauntlet, manning a machine gun on a 2-1/2 ton truck. According to our family tradition, he was among the last soldiers to make it through the Gauntlet.

I might be confused on the relationship of the 38th Artillery Battalion with the 38th RCT. Was the 38th FA considered a battalion of the 38th RCT, or attached to the regiment, or just in coincidental proximity during the battle? Does anyone have the organizational chart with principle officers listed for the battalion and the regiment during the time of the battle?
