Comments: I am looking for anyone who knew my dad, Donald (Don) Barker. I knew he worked with heavy equipment, but I am not sure what Unit. I found a slide picture he took of a long metal building that had a sign over the door that said "366 ENGINEER AVIATION BN" To the left of the sign was a picture that resembles 2 tigers. To the right of the sign is a shield that has a painted representation of the "Phoenix". The only othe pictures I have are a rock crusher and of a roller being lifted out of a ditch.

Comments: I served Feb 53 to Oct 53 as 2nd Lt, construction Platoon leader, at K1 airfield in Pusan Korea. Supervised the Motor Pool, also the rock crushing plant located in the middle of the River, together with the Asphalt Plant. I remember a Lt Schlee (sp ? ) and wish I could remember the name of our Company Commander, a National Guard officer, who was a truly great Leader. Altogether I served nearly four years in the Army, 2 years in the European occupation, the other in Korea.

Comments: I Arrived in Korea May 1952 as a 2nd Lt. fresh out of Ft. Belvoir, Ft. Leonard Wood, & Walters AFB attached to the 498th Engr. Aviation Battalion. Shortly thereafter we were attached to the 366th Engr. Aviation Battalion located @ K1. We removed the PSP & put down an asphaltic runway. Thereafter we moved to K9 & did the same thing before moving back to K1. I could write a book about my experience in Korea during that time. While in Korea, I was PX Officer, Labor Officer, Personel Officer, Base Fire Marshall (The Officers Club burned down during my tour), Public Information Officer, Asst. Supply Officer, Won Sales Officer. & others. One of my best friends was R.A.Martin. alias "Red Ass" or Bob. I have lost track of him & would like to hear if any one knows if he still exists.

In 1953 in Korea no broken bones were noted by the medics and I was put back on duty after several weeks in the Airbase medical tent. I made no complaints at the time of my discharge at the San Francisco Presidio Base and after years of discomfort, they discovered broken bone chips and severely torn cartelidge. I am trying to find information on the 366th Aviation Engineering
Battalion that was stationed in Korea in 1953-4. It was one of a
number of units designated as SCARWAF units-Special Category Army With
Air Force.
They were somewhat segregated units and I would like to know their the
details of their performance during the Korean War. Their mission was
to build, maintain and defend air strips. In particular I would like to
know where the history of the 366th is kept. I believe it designation
was changed to 68th later.
Thank you for your efforts to keep a critical event in the Cold War ,
and the sacrifices made,at the forefront of communal memory.
