Comments: My name is Sabrina Dora Gallegos and I am 14 and in the 8th grade. I'm the 2nd child Of Oscar Edward Gallegos's son Oscar Edward Gallegos Jr.

I had recently visited this memorial in Washington D.C. in a school trip. As I looked at the pictures on the black granite wall I saw a picture that looked like my grandpa.

I was wondering if anyone knew him or knows any stories about him. I have tried to ask my dad about him before but he gets very emotional.

If anyone knows any stories or has any pictures of Oscar Edward Gallegos that would make me very happy.

Was wondering if anyone might have known him and remember where this action took place and what was the nature of the action.

Thank you in advance.

Anyone remember Dominic Pecoraro?

Column_1_Spacer Column_2_Spacer
Edward Catapane wrote on 2010-01-02 15:47:25.0

Comments: Just hope that someone remembers DOMINIC PECORARO. He served in the 35th Inf 25th Regt in Korea. He was KIA on Jan 30,1951 only 2 months after his 18th birthday. I don't know Dominic, I never met him but his grave is nearby my parents in St Charles Cemetery,Pinelawn, New York. I've visited him many years but don't know a thing about him. Was hoping one of the fellows who may have served with him could shed any info on him and how he may have died. I believe he was from Brooklyn but not sure. I'll keep trying but any help would realy be appreciated. Thanks to all of you for your great service. Be proud of your efforts and yourselves.

William Joseph Jernigan wrote on 2009-04-03 10:13:44.0

Comments: My uncle was CPL Daniel Joseph Carter from Mt.Olive, NC. Corporal Carter was a member of the 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division, Company "I". He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in North Korea on March 11, 1952. I was born June 25, 1952 and my mother named me after him. His Military Occupation Specialty was 4745-Light Weapons Infantryman. I have been told he died in Minnesota Line, near Sonjon, North Korea. I am hoping to locate anyone that served with him and can share any of their memories with me. I have a very clear photo showing him standing with five of his comrades and a Korean boy. I also have a letter to my aunt from Chaplain Lester B. Woosley, Capt. detailing the circumstances of his death and naming others he served with that may help someone recognize or recall him. I can email them to anyone that wants to view them to see if they recognize him or the others. I thank you in advance for your interest and assistance, and thank you all for your selfless service and duty. You may email me at wjjernigan@comcast.net

Comments: Hi Guys,

Just a reminder, the 35th Infantry has a web site at: http://www.cacti35th.org/

Click on "KIAs" from home page to go to KIAs for WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. For Korea, we need lots of help with pictures and the Company for KIAs. So please take a look and fill-in any blanks and also correct us where we are wrong.

Guys--when you are all gone this task will be MUCH MORE difficult. Please help us now, thanks!

He died in 1976, well before I was born in 1982, and I'm trying to piece together his service career for my father. I know from his DD214s that he was attached to the 35th Infantry Reg, 25th Infantry Div. and/or the 35th Inf. Hq Co until at least 1946 and that he served in the Pacific. During this time I think he was a Duty NCO. Any info would be greatly appreciated :).
