Comments: Hi,

My name is Dan Champagne and I'm currently in the process of writing a biography on Keith L. Ware (34th Infantry Regiment Commander in Korea). I'm interested in conducting interviews with anyone who served with General Ware during the Korean conflict. I'm looking specifically for someone who has information regarding the type of soldier, person and/or leader he was. I would appreciate any help you could give me.

Regards,

Dan

Comments: Don needs any information possible that will help clarify his performance in Korea. His records were some of the many that were destroyed by fire.He was in Teajon on July 20 1950 and recalls a Hospital being blown up, and no one was able to get the wounded or dead out before it was bombed. He was wounded in a truck wreck while trying to avoid enemy road blocks. He was unable to get medical attention at the time and as many others did as well , Don had to wear the injury until he could be seen later at an Aid Station. We have been informed by other helpful Veterans, that he needs to find someone who was with him that may have copies of their records, to help reconstruct his records. Don is liable for several Medals but can not receive them until he has obtained some clarification from someone.
We have a copy of Special Orders where 37 Soldiers of the 34th Inf. Heavy Mortar Co were redirected to the 21st Inf. Heavy Mortar Co. on Sept. 1 1950. If you know of, or, are one of these men, please contact me at the email address above. If anyone remembers Don Legg, he needs your help.
Thanking you in advance,
Mike Bishop

Comments: Duane received two purple hearts. He was shot in the arm and in the leg. He also was again serving the Army in another platoon but we do not know which one, after his original platoon 32nd division, perished. Dad died of early Alzheimers Disease at age 59 (young).

Maybe it really was a nerve disease or something else. He did have some post tramatic stress syndrome because all us kids and my mother (Japanese), were beat up many times. We still loved our father regardless. suffered bruises because of it.

Keywords: Duane was only foot soldier left from this division because all others perished. He was stationed in Hachinohe just prior to that war in
1950-1951/52. I have pictures of some men in his platoon and all the US Army Base pictures stationed there at that time, in a Japanese Photo Album. Dad stayed alive in a rice paddy while the
enemy camped next to him for 3 days. One guy surrendered next to him and was shot.

Comments: I'm trying to find anyone who might have known SGT. Dick Kingsland 34th INF RGT 24th INF DIV, company unknown. He was in Korea during the years 50 thru 52. I know he was wounded the first time on 7/8/50. He didn't talk much about Korea but I do remember saying he owed his live to a Capt. Green(e) from some MASH unit. He also lost his best friend a LT. Angel during a battle. He and my Dad were in the same foxhole at the time. If anyone has any information on any of the names it would be appreciated.

Comments: We lost about 75 to 80% of our troops at Tejon and was split up between the other 2 regiments.

Looking for any one that was serving when we went to Korea. I know there not many left due to age and Tejon. we lost the majarity of our troops there and disbanded, then split up to the 19th and 21st. I was in the medics when we went to korea and when I returned

Hello, My name is Richard I'm looking for info on my Grandfather He was SFC Arthur McMillian was with 32nd Inf. 7th Div.
BUT they did not get to Korea until Sept ,1950 . He died of wounds on July 15 ,1950 so he must have been sent to another
unit. His records were destroyed in a fire some time later in St. Louis,Mo.All I know is that he was a Light Weapons Squad
Leader with the 32nd Sgt.First Class if you could help in this search it would be of great help to my mother and I . All she can
tell me is that he sent her silk pajamas from Japan that was dated about 2 weeks before the date of death . This arrived 2
months after telegram notifcation of death .She was 8yrs. old at this time and remembers reporters around as she was the first
war orphan. There are no letters home with any other post marks ,no pictures with any insignias .You were where I think he
was maybe you knew him was probably only around for a week but maybe . He went by Mac his full name was SFC. Arthur
Jennings McMillian . D.O.W. 07/15/1950 if you can help or know a way to find any thing please email me at
mtchief@earthlink.net God Bless. Thanks, Richard Out

In one of the papers that I received there is a letter stating that he sent home photos of Bobby Kalb and others named Renolds, Baker, Boyko, and Mayville. My Uncle died as a POW in Jan 51. Would like to find anyone who may have known him.
