Comments: My dad had a little Korean boy as a friend named "Kim". I am looking for anyone that may have served in this unit during 1950-1952. My father's name was Rudolph J. Perreault. I am his daughter and would like to know what happened and what MASH unit he was brought to. The war ruined his life and the life of his family. God bless anyone that can help me.
Anyone in this unit during 1950-1952, may find themselves or someone that you know in pictures that I had scanned. Anyone interested in viewing these photos may e-mail me at the above address and I will send you the jpg. files.

Especially those who were in the Chosin Reservoir area, 1950. He doesn't remember any first names, but some last names are: Patterson,Mann,Gabreil,Gallagher,Fernandez,Mendozo

Comments: If any one remembers my Uncle George, also known as "GL" please reply - currently no known information exists as to what happened to him. My Aunt has never known to this day if he truly died in action - we're looking for closure. They were childhood sweethearts who married and he was shipped out shortly after their marriage. He served in the "31 INF RGT 7 INF DIV" was awarded the Purple Heart either during service or posthumously. He was reported MIA 12/12/1950, officially designated DIA 12/31/1953, and never heard from again. Since beginning this journey of investigation, I have learned that he most likely was at the Chosin Reservoir when he became MIA.

He is still alive and well, but it's hard to get a good picture of what role he played in combat. He doesn't much talk about what he did.

Comments: I landed in Korea on October 17, 1952 on my birthday. Left Korea in September of 1953. A black Captain took a small piece of shrapnel out of my top lip. I could have received a purple heart, but I refused because my wife would have received a letter saying I was wounded in action.
King Company Outpost: The whole company went up and to the best of my recollection only three of us walked away. When I returned from this battle I slept for four days.
I was the company barber in the medical company. Captain Pizzer paid me 20 bucks a hair cut. One of my best friends in Korea was Henry (a black man) I cut his hair and taught him to drive a deuce and a half.
Eugene Stanley went to the 25th division, I think, I still see him occasionally in Hinton, WV.
There were two sargents from Bluefield, WV. whose names I don't remember. I went deer hunting with one of them during Christmas of 1952 in the reserve area. Platoon leader was Lt. Moore and he took us out for training in mid-calf deep snow.
Ernest Tubb, Bill Monroe, Roy Acuff, Piper Lorie came to entertain the troops. We were on line and got relieved to see Ernest Tubb.

He arrived Korea Jan. 29, 1953. 7th Division 32nd Infantry Company "C" His duties were driving, mostly "2 &1/2" for personnel. After the Peace Treaty was signed he was shipped out Nov. 28, 1953 and arrived California Dec. 21st. From there to Fort Smith Arkansas for muster out... On arrival he received a three day pass, Christmas leave. He rode the "santa clause express" home for Christmas and drove back to muster out before New Years day. Thanks, Cullen

Comments: Ed Altieri was a ranger, survived "Pork Chop Hill" all I know is that Walter Cronkite interviewed him after a battle. Ed went on to Vietnam and survive. Cancer did what no enemy could. He never told war stories but we knew he was special....

Comments: My father has been trying to obtain a copy(s) of his records from the Korean War that he was told were lost - he needs these records as he never received his Purple Heart. I would like to find out how to obtain these records so my father can get his medal. Any information on how to do this would be very much appreciated. My father is Robert J. Nadeau of Boston Mass. Thank You

Comments: I am currently working on a website commemorating my uncle Jack Wallace. I never knew him because he died 20 years before I was born. My father has done extensive research and contacted a few guys who knew him. (Paul Mendoza, Dick Robinson, and the man who was a good friend of my uncle and was with him when he was wounded Ed Bettis). Please take a look at what I have put together so far at http://www.joewallace.com/UncleJack and feel free to e-mail me with any comments or suggestions. I am still working on the site so it's a little incomplete at the moment. If you knew my uncle and have any other information to contribute to the site it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.
Joe Wallace Jr.
