Comments: I am doing a presentation on a battle during the Korean War, and I would love to do a presentation on a battle that my grandfather was in. He passed away when I was only 5 years old, so I was never told any of his stories. He was a light infantry weapons leader. He was wounded on 30 Oct. 1952.

Comments: I am looking for any information on my uncle, Elwood Truslow. Information I have is: November 29, 1950 he with 4 other cooks who were getting ready to cook breakfast when all five men were wounded. John Gibbs helped Elwood to the aid station and I don't have anymore information on him. Later a convoy of trucks were taking the wounded down a ridge and all trucks were blown up. Could Elwood have been on one of these trucks? He was in the L Company, 3rd Battalion, 31st Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division. He had been in Japan just before getting to North Korea. He was from Virginia. Maybe someone can remember him when he was in the aid station.

Comments: Greetings,
I am a living historian who sets up re-enactments and displays of Military equipment at various events (free of charge!) to help educate the public about the sacrifices made by America's veterans. My group and myself are currently putting together a display centered around the 31st Infantry, 7th Infantry Division in 1953. I would like to here from any veterans of the Regiment from 1952 - 1953 who would be willing to share any information with me regarding what they remember about uniforms, equipment and gear that was worn during this time frame.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Alan Crane

Comments: I am MSG K. Munyon, US Army, preparing a project on 7th ID units east of the Chosin Reservoir for the U.S. Army First Sergeant Course. My father was a Marine in Korea, PVT Richard (Dick) Ochs. He would smile that I am researching the Army at Chosin and always gave me crap about the Army vs. USMC. I am as proud of the U.S. Army as he was of his Corps and respect his service and the example he set for me.
My last reenlistment was at the Korean War Memorial in D.C., in honor of my father who died in 1995, and I will be the 1SG of a company in Pyong Taek when I return to Korea this winter.
I plan to join this organization and I wanted to thank you for not only the outstanding reference material and links, but for the personal touch in allowing veterans and their families the chance to reach out to each other.
God bless every person in uniform who served the nation, but in my heart, God bless especially those who never came home and those who were left behind. I will never forget them as long as I live, and as long as I am a noncommissioned officer, my soldiers won't either. Thank you for making the world a better place through unbelievable and often horrifying personal sacrifice...

Comments: Looking for anyone who might remember my name; I joined the outfit just in time to make the Inchon invasion.I was a machinegunner in the 1st Bn 31st Regt (not sure of the Co) but I'm pretty sure it was "B" Co. Made all the trips up and down that God forsaken peninsula, pick up a little shrapnel from some artillery but made it back for a little more of the festivities. I took the walk out of the Chosen with the Marines, (God Bless em') never thought I'd be saying that. They helped save my "six" for sure.

Comments: My father, Leslie Beck, was 27 when he went to Korea, many of the guys called him Pop, or Pappe because he was so much older than the others. He did his training in Indiana. He served in the Artiliary and shot the big guns(now has poor hearing). He has pictures of him with jeeps as he often did runs to the front. For years he had a lump on the top of his head from where a tripod split his helmet. He still has problems with his feet from the boots and cold.

I am trying to get any info. at all about him for my family history. I just recently found his name listed in the book "East of Chosin" by Roy Edgar Appleman. All my family knows is that he was reported KIA on Dec. 3, 1950. I am interested in any information about how he died and his role in the battle. Any help would be much appreciated.
