Comments: I am a retired Air Force member conducting research on the tunnels, caves, bunkers, undergrounds, industries, rail lines, etc, that might have been encountered by U.S. Military personnel as they moved through Hamhung, Chongjin, Kapsan, Sachang, Unsan, Wonsan, or any other areas of North Korea. I would like to correspond with any one that might have any information or photographs on the above subjects. I have located some information in books and other publications, but overall very little. Would appreciate any assistance that can be given. Thankyou

Comments: I am looking for any soldiers from the 7th CAV that served with my Uncle, Albert Seabrook. My uncle was killed on October 5th 1951. My father and the family have never been able to find outhow he died. The US Army did not provide that information, Just a western union saying he was killed in combat operations.
I am currently in Iraq and I was able to talk with a unit historian from the cav when they were in country. The unit historian was able to find some basic information on my uncle. I would like to help my father find out any information on my uncle.
I look forward to any help that you may be able to provide to me.
Thank You
SFC Nathan A. Seabrook

Was transfered to 3rd Bat Hdqrs Co. Became radio repairman (always willing to trade my beer rations for coke). Bell & I hit the ditch when a quad 50 opened up as the jeep passed their position, funny (no). Sgt Strakes bawled out a 2-star General for disturbing his sleep. The Gen made sure he got the Comm supplies he needed!Memory is spotty, I regret knowing so many but can't remember their names.

Comments: My Dad, William (Bill) Amen, was at the Chosin. I am looking for anyone who knew him. He had served in World War II, in the Pacific, so he was older in Korea (38) than most of the men. He was from Colorado. He got out of Chosin with a group of about 18 men. They passed through a village, at dawn, while the village slept. Once they were in the high ground, looking down on the village, they heard shouts and gunfire. When they looked back, another group of GIs were being gunned down. The village had awakened, by this time, and killed the American soldiers. In my Dad's group, there was also a young GI, who crawled away from the group, when they had stopped to rest, and pulled a pin out of a grenade, killing himself. His feet were frostbitten. I am looking for anyone who may have known my Dad. He's been gone for almost 20 years.

He received the Silver Star along with numerous other awards. We have an article from his hometown newspaper (Bear Creek, AL) copying a press release from the Army stating that Mr. Vickery had been awarded the DSC for his actions in Korea. This is the only info we have on this honor. Mr. Vickery died in 2001, but his widow would like to pursue this if he is indeed eligible. If you knew him, please contact me.

Comments: My father, William (Bill) Pfander served in Korea from 1952 until 1953. He was a medic/litter bearer and I believe he was at Old Baldy. Dad was in the 31st Inf. Med.Co, 7th Div. Company E and F. He was shifted as needed. Dad is from Essex, Connecticut. I know he served with a man with the last name of Kelly. I have access to many pictures taken in Korea and at basic training. Dad was tall and very thin... still is. He is now 75 and has terminal colon cancer. I am trying to find anyone who may remember him. He did his best to patch up and save as many soldiers as he could. He still wakes up at night screaming from nightmares. His father and grandfather owned and operated a bakery and I know that boxes of cookies and cakes were often sent. Also, he had a pet falcon while he was serving. He was a carpenter by trade and built "substantial bunkers". The insignia patch he wore was an hourglass if that helps to identify his unit. Thanks for your help. Dad is just now starting to speak of what happened and what he saw. It has been eating him up for his whole life.

He enlisted in 1951 and was wounded on March 23,1953. He was hospitalized at some point after that and was returned to duty. He was in the 31st Inf. Reg. and I believe may have been in heavy weapons. Comments: My name is Daemien O'Keeffe, I am a volunteer for JPAC (Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command). I am currently researching a members of the 31st, trying to locate family members. Many of you know about the DNA database, for those that don't, when remains are brought back and there are no means of identifying them, they rely on getting samples from relatives of the servicemembers, some of the men who are listed as KIA/MIA are extremly difficult to find info on so they ask for volunteers like me to find the family.
If you have any information on this individual at all, no matter how small, even a conversation or anything they mentioned about family.

Comments: I live in Douglas, AZ I am the nephew of Sgt Frank G. Vejar who was in the 7th Inf Div 31st Inf Rgt Company M. My uncle was MIA on 30 November 1950 at Chosin. I am trying to find anyone that may have served with him and may have known him, and maybe witnessed the circumstances of his end. His mother is still alive at 93. I have the book "in Mortal Combat" by John Toland and will soon be getting the books by Roy Appleman. We are also in the process of giving DNA for remains and also I have requested his military record. I hope that maybe someone can put me in contact with any surviving members of Company M, or the 31st Rgt. My utmost respect and honor to all the great heroes that were there.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
Regards, Mike Valdez

Comments: My Dad was Floyd Rathburn. He served in Korea in 1952. He fought at Triangle Hill with the 31st Regiment, 7th Division. He was wounded several times on October 14, 1952. I know he also played football in the Army for a few months before going forward. I have three boys (4, 6, and 7 years old) and would like to be able to tell them more about his service. He was like many who have served, in that he never talked much about it, but loved this country and was proud to have served. Any information about him or his unit would be greatly appreciated as he passed away several years ago without leaving much to go on. Thank you for your help and thanks to all who serve.
