Comments: Was stationed at Camp Coiner from April 65 to June 66, was extended to a 15 month tour due to Vietnam build-up. Volunteered for Nam but did not have enought time left on my enlistment for a complete 13 month tour in Nam so I got a 2 month extension in Korea. Any one around during that time drop me a line.

Comments: I was only in korea for two months. (July and August of 1988). I was a Cadet sent there to train as a Platoon leader. I had a great experience and think of it often. I served in the Reserves unitil 1991 and got out. Now at 45 they are letting me in the National Guard. My last chance to be a soldier (Sgt.Todd). If anyone was stationed at Camp Colbern in the mid to late 80's e-mail me just to chat about that place.

Comments: Where are all the guys who served in Korea when I was there? I had to leave suddenly in the fall of 1951 because I was diagnosed with hemmoraghic fever. I spent the next 2 years in Japan after being released from the hospital. Going back to Seoul in May 2007, which will be 56 years after I left there. Anxious to see the many changes.

Worked In Battallion Headquarters 52-53

Comments: I clerked in Battallion Headquarters from March of 1952 until April of 1953. Memories of army life have not grown sweeter, but I do recall being billeted in an unfinished school building close to an abandoned monastery that was just beyond the palace walls....then moving to a quonset in the battallion compound where I frequently pulled CQ duty and had to alert everybody when "bedcheck charley" was spotted....also the fact that it was interesting to hike in the hills that rose just outside our fence. Would be interested to hear from anyone who worked in Headquarters or Personnel around that time.

Comments: At the high point on Camp Coiner were 2 Air Force barracks used by the 6146th Air Force Advisory Group (AFAG). Our unit motor pool was also on Camp Coiner. Our duty station was at ROKAF HQ on the south side of the Han River. During the 6 day duty week, we made two round trips a day, to and from Camp Coiner to our offices at ROKAF HQ. The "O" Club was nearby and a popular spot. The 6146th also used Family Housing on Yongson for "accompanied" members.
