Comments: I was in Korea from July 1951 to November 1951, first being stationed at Taegu, in a tent encampment a few miles outside of town. I was a high speed radio operator assigned to the 304th Signal Battalion of the 8th Army. In late September, I was relocated to Seoul where we had our quarters in the 500-year old Korean(Chinese) palace not too far from the University. We did rotating monitoring duties out of a red brick building at Seoul University where many buildings were still standing intact. Our mess hall was a couple of miles away from our sleeping quarters and it was always fun trying to catch a ride there. In October-November, I came down with Manchurian Fever and was ultimately airlifted out of Korea to an Army Hospital in Tokyo. I would like to make contact with anyone else who may have been in this unit in either location.

Comments: My father, William "Bill" Burke served in Korea from 1951 to 1953. He was a member of the Radio Operations Co. of the 304th Siganl Battalion. My father died when I was very young and I didn't get a chance to know him. I am hopeful to find someone out there that remembers him, who would be able to tell me something of service in Korea. Thanks, David
