Comments: I was assigned to HHC, 2d Medium Tank Bn, 40th Armor, Camp Beavers, Korea (also known as "Happy Valley") in September 1958. While there I worked in the S3 Section. CPT John E. Shillingburg was company commander. In March 1959, I was reassigned to the 181st Signal Battalion at Ascom City, Korea. I retired at Fort Sill, OK in May 1983.

Comments: Any former members of Tk Co 31st Inf or Co E 2MTB 40 Armor out there? I was there late 1956-mid 58. Tongduchon. (Camp Casey). We had 4 platoons ..22 tanks M-46s, then when the Army went Pentomic, they took one platoon away and we were assigned to 40th Armor at Cp Beavers. We got M-47s just before I left. I retired in Aug 1980 after 25 yrs.

Comments: I arrived at Camp Beaver on Halloween 1957 and the next morning about 4 am we went on alert for it felt like a month. I arrived with no winter clothing. It was freezing. Most of my time there was spent working for Ray Hervey the S1. John Brewer was E Co Commander. THe Battalion CO was a West Pointer. Ray Hervey was a fantastic boss, tough minded but very good.. If anyone out there was there at the same time, send a note.
