They need verification of my actions while covering the retreat of the platoon. Also possible verification of my being removed from the battlefield by 2 officers the next morning

Comments: Still trying to locate Sgt. Paul Lawler.

I was the point man on the initial attack on Bloody Ridge 30 Aug.and would be interested in knowing if anyone saw me going up the hill alone as nobody followed me immediately after the order to move out was given by our Lt.{Ellis I believe}.About 5 minutes after I secured the hill, the Lt.and about 5 men arrived.A short time later we withdrew and I was wounded as soon as I got back down the hill by mortar schrapnel.Lawler wrote to me in the hospital saying the Lt. was going to recommend a citation, but I never heard anything about it except that they thought I had been killed. I have often wondered if anyone remembers any of this.Let me know! Bell,Tom

LOOKING FOR INFORMATION

Unit:

Service or Relationship: FAMILY MEMBER

Comments: I'm looking for information on my Grandpa on his
injuries. His name was Hermenegildo Tomas Almaraz,

I am not aware of any nicknames he had while in
the army. He went by H.T., Tomas, and Herman.

He passed away May 20, 2012 from Alzheimer's and
Parkinson's disease.

Before he got sick he would always talk about his
days in South Korea in the 2nd Infantry, he was
burned during battle when a North Korean set his
pit on fire.

He was burned on the left side and was taken to
Japan.

He had a tattoo on his left forearm of Texas and
inside Texas were his initials H.T.

I am looking for more information as to where he
was sent for his injuries and other medical
treatment, sadly all his paperwork was burned in
the fire at the Archive Center.

I would also like to know more on him in general.
I miss his stories.

Please if you can help we'd really appreciate it.

Comments: Perhaps you are the member or know of any one from Crew of Tank TK-45 "Trouble" from Korean War? My husband John Klimek was commander of that tank. He was twice in Korea. He passed December 29, 2006 and his burial place is VA Cemetery in Lake Worth, South Florida.
Please contact me by e-mail.
