Comments: My father served in 2nd Medical Bn, 734th Ambulance Company. Is there any service history from WWII available to read? My father never spoke of his Army days and I would like to learn about the Ambulance company.

Comments: My dad, Howard Johnston from Chicago, IL served in Korea from 1951-1953 in the 2nd Medical Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division, Clearing Company. I'm trying to help him figure out what battles he was in and which one(s) he got medals for. He didn't talk about it much while I was growing up, so it's hard to help him. I do remember him telling me he drove a car for a chaplain at one point. Can anyone steer me in the right direction? Please email me if you can. DawnToney@Bellsouth.net

Comments: Correction of Unit Designation - Correct is 2nd Medical Bn, 2nd Infantry Division. Got mixed up since 2nd Medical Bn was part of 1st Cav Division during first 60 (approx.) days of tour. 1st Cav was designated for service in Viet Nam and we became part of 2nd Infantry Division and changed uniform patches-nothing else. Was great to be member of same medical bn in two divisions. Thanks to the helper who called me on the telephone Sat. 7/7/07 to prompt the correction. THANKS!

Comments: Things have changed a lot since 2nd Med guys, and I often wish I had a time machine to "flip" back to some of the great times we had over there. It never occured to me how much danger we were actually so close to.
I have created a Gourmet Sauce company (Local's Backyard Gourmet Sauces) a restaurant business (Local's Backyard Gourmet Grille) and a Gourmet Foods (frozen) Company. We are going to be sponsoring a NASCAR driver (probably Scott Wimmer) in the future, and our products should be on grocery store shelves starting March, 2006.
If there are any 2nd Med guys out there, send me a message, and I'll get back to you.
My other entry on this site is outdated.

Comments: My dad was a doctor in 2nd battilion in Korea near worst fighting, from June of 1952 to April 1954. I have pictures, other names in unit I recall are Williams the jeep driver, Clark clerk of aid station, Robert Exon officer, Frank Willete assistant to doctor Anyone have any info, the group also had a dog named Saucer Ass found during a flood along a river bank. Woundered were heicoptered into mash unit and transferred out to nearest hospital.
My dad Albert Pedley was a physician in the army, was drafted out of his OB/GYN residency at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane Wa,and left out of Fort Lewis WA in June of 1952, when I was only six weeks old. He returned around April of 1954. He didn't talk much about the war either, however, he was in the 2nd Batillion aid station (Sukoshi mash) Chinese for small mash unit I think, not far from the worst fighting, at Heartbreak ridge, Cherry Hill? Dad said his aid station was raided by North Koreans, and at one point had bodies stacked up 8 deep. I have been in contact with Robert Exon now a Pharmacist from Topeka, Ks who was an officer that served in the same unit with my dad. Bob remembers the monsoons and that during ae flood that my Dad and another fellow found a little puppy along a river and brought him back to camp. the puppy was named Saucer Ass and was so little she had to be fed with a bottle. Bob Exon relates that 2 or 3 North Koreans came into their camp with guns and then backed down. Lt Frank Willette a newspaper man from Minnisota was my dad s assistant, Any one know of these people or any one else. Bob relates another story, that the guys lived in bunkers built into the side of a hill and it was very cold in November and for heat used charcol in 5 gallon buckets with holes. One night this guy brought the can into the bunker, the bunker collapsed and fell on the man and the bucket and the man was badly burned. They used saline packs on him, called the helicopter , turned on the headlights to the jeeps so the helicopters could find them at night. The man later died. Williams an African American was my Dads jeep driver. There was also Sgt Wally, Capt Clark, clerk of the aid station. My Dad has pictures , Badger Trail?, Kansas Line picture( defensive line) says stay on road, MINES! Would love to hear from anyone who might know of others in my dads unit, thanks My dad was born in 1923 and would be 83 today. He loved to smoke and passed away in 1992 while I was in nursing school.

Charles Johnson is my grandfather and he is ver sick now and has never really talked about his time in the war. It really always just upset him to much to discuss it. All he would talk about was a really good friend of his in the unit - Joe Henry. I would love to find out about Joe Henry so that I could share it with my grandfather. Please if anyone knows anything about him, please contact me.

Would like some help in trying to find the truth/details of my uncles'
death? in Korea.
Tommie Lee Morgan was a SGT in the Army, 2nd MED 2nd Inf Div. He was
a POW by last account, no remains no nothing was ever returned to his
family.
Supposedly any information the Pentagon had on him was lost during the
fire at the pentagon. Can you help? my father died without ever finding
any concrete info on his brother. Tommie Lee Morgan does still have a
sister that is living.
From KWP Tommie is shown as having died in POW camp, unknown
at this time. Visitor input is most appreciated.
