Comments: I am trying to find out any information on my father Edward F X McKeown, Bronx NY. He had been a Marine in 1949, went to the 107 US INf ARMy (Co M) then 105 Field Artillery in 1951, and thereafter 42 MP CO. Curiously I can find no record of the 105th FA or the 42nd MP CO even existing except on the few records of his own that I have

Comments: My father told me about a Korean civilian who had crawled out onto a field alone with a stretcher during a fierce gun battle during the Korean war (around 1950 or 1951) and rescued an injured American captain. The battle was so heated that no one else would go. Originally from N. Korea, the Korean man was known simply as "Oh-San." He had taught math in Japan, and since he was also fluent in English, Oh-San was subsequently attached by the captain to the 2nd Division as a translator.

Oh-San never told my father about the rescue which had taken place before Dad's arrival there; another soldier who had been there shared the story with my father.

If there were a way for me to locate Oh-San, I would. Time is growing shorter, and my father speaks well and often of his old friend Oh-San. At the very least, I hope that the full story of this act of selfless bravery can be discovered and told. (Thank you!)

Does anyone remember anything about him and his time in Korea? Thank you.

Mar-1953 18 Mar. While he was living he never talk about his tour to no one. I ask several times
and was never given an answer, just tears would sweal in his eyes and he would say " as long as I
live, I will never forget the smell of death"
Now I know as an "Army Brat" that hte army keeps
very good records of their units, but I can not find in books or on the net specific info on this
unit. If any one can point me in the right direct-
