Comments: Dear Sirs.

I'm seeking any information about my Father, Frank Penrose Van Aulen. He served during the Korean War as a member of the 25th Div 27th Regiment Wolfhounds. He served 13th months in Korea. His records in arpercent were destroyed during a fire in the 70's and I'm trying to rebuild them. Any information that you could provide would be useful as my father is now suffering from Alzheimer's. His military service number is 13316876 and social security number is 197-xx-xxxx. He entered into active duty Sept 18th 1950.

Thank you for your help

Comments: Was informed that Ralph Puckett, a former Commanding Officer of King Company 3rd Battalion 27th Infantry Regiment may have some daily unit morning reports and perhaps unit orders and or photos taken from January - November 1951. Searching for Virgil L. Billeter - according to National Records Center his records were destroyed during the records fire several years ago. Trying to reconstruct Virgil's war time service, his BSM, CIB and other medals awarded and obtain the one just approved for issue. Virgil's mailing address is: P.O. Box 1174, Grafton VA 23692-1174 tel: 757-898-5450 or use my e-mail address to contact Virgil.

Passing of a proud Wolfhound

Stephen McDonough wrote on 2003-05-08 10:00:55.0

Comments: My father, William McDonough, served in Korea from '53 to '54. He was very proud of his service but never talked much about it. I do know that he saw action and was wounded in May of '53, taking shrapnel in the head, neck and face. He mentioned a few regions in passing such as Old Baldy. His discharge papers don't offer us much insight into his experiences during the war and I would be interested in hearing from anyone who could offer some insight into what my father went through. He was proud to have been a Wolfhound. Also, I am a bit confused in that on his discharge papers it cites his most significant action as with the 364th Infantry regiment but all of his patches are from the 27th infantry, 25th division. Could anyone tell me why this is? Thank you.

Unfortunately, I believe all was discarded by an uncaring associate of his when he passed away in 1984 at age 52.Dad was always very proud of his time with the 25th INF DIV, specifically mentioning the Wolfhounds. Comments: I would like any info from someone that served with S/Sgt DONALD LEE GOLDEN, my uncle & namesake. He served in Korea in 1950-51 in the Army, 3rd Platoon Heavy Mortar Company. He was 20 years old, from Heber Springs, Arkansas. His boot camp was at Fort Knox, Ky. Was killed by driving over a mine in Korea and died Mar.23, 1951. I have a newspaper picture (possibly from Stars & Stripes) of the Army's 3rd platoon..naming Platoon Leader as 2nd Lt. WILLIAM L. JENKS and Platoon Sgt as M/Sgt. IRIA O. CONNER. There are 21 guys in this picture. I will gladly print copies for anyone interested. I also have a picture of the 1st Platoon Heavy Mortar Company naming Platoon Leader as 2nd Lt. JAMES T. EVITTS, JR. and Platoon Sgt. was MILFORD C. ROBINSON. There was an article in the Stars & Stripes during this time that praised his expertise with mortars, however I do not have a copy. Thanks in advance for any info or pictures.

Comments: I'm looking for anyone who knew my dad, Chuck Ruby. He was in Korea with the Wolfhounds from Sept 52 to Sep 53. Part of his tour he worked in the px. He also spent some time in a MASH unit. Talked about being near Jackson Heights and Kumuhwa valley. Went throught basic at Breckinridge KY and some time at Ft. Meade prior to deploying. Also spent a short time in Japan just before his arrival in Korea.

Kumwha Positions in 52/53?

Comments: Hi All

Can you help?

Trying to put some notes/facts into a scrapbook of my dads Korea photos and trying to learn the names of a couple hills and/or location of 3rd battalion in Dec 52-Jan 53. I've got a photo taken from his OP looking across a valley toward a few dominant hills. Anyone remember the approx locations in the area at that time?

My dad, John Dougherty was w/ the Wolfhounds 52-53. Scout Observer, 3 Battln, HQ CO, often if not always in Obs Posts w/in K Company positions. I can send the phot along if it would help. I've scrutinized maps and other Kumwha area photos but can pinpoint the area and hills in the photos.

Thanks for your help and mostly thank you for your service!
