Comments: I deployed with the 279th General hospital from Fitzsimmons Army Hospital Aurora, CO to Camp Sakai Japan in Jan 1951 and served until Dec 1953. Returned to Osaka Japan in 1970 to view Expo 70. Because of time constraint, was unable to travel to Camp Sakai area (Sugimotocho Station). Returning to Osaka o/a Apr 6 2004 and will attempt travel to Sugimotocho and Kanaoka Bks (home 382nd Gen Hosp). Would like to hear from former members of the 279th both while at Fitz and Sakai. Best Wishes to all. Ed

Comments: Interested in communicating with anyone who attended my wedding to Red Cross Hospital Worker, Faith, 23 November 1953, at the hospital chapel, 279th General Hospital. There were a number of patients at the wedding, and since all records seem to have disappeared, am greatly interested in first-hand witnesses who can verify. Happy holidays to all.

Comments: My grandfather Samuel H. Sands served in the Korean War. For a Christmas Present I am putting together a scrapbook about the Korean War. He has some pictures and I have also gotten some information off of the internet. Does anyone know my grandfather? Or is anyone that served in this war willing to give me some basic information about your time served to help me with my project. Thanks very much.

Wanting Information on helping a Korean War vet's widow.

Comments: I live in an apartment complex where I have met a lovely woman who is a widow of a Korean War veteran. She has received a letter about a year ago promising her a monthly check to help support her since it was a war related disease/cancer that took his life. However, a full two years has passed and she has not received any money. What can she do to claim this. Are there people she can contact? Organizations? Etc. I am contacting you because she cannot even afford a telephone service. Please help us. Thankyou.
