| HARRY MERRIMAN wrote on July 20, 2011 City and State: Unit: HQ BATTERY 26TH AAA AW Service or Relationship: ARMY VETERAN Comments: I served from July, 1955 through October, 1956, mostly as assistant S-4 and S-4. During that time we moved our buildings bodily as described by Edward Martin from Munsan-ni, across the road from the A9 airstrip, to Paju-ri, across from Division Artillery headquarters. After trying to disassemble and re-assemble a pre-fab building, I believe it was either the battalion motor officer or motor sergeant who got the idea for using the low-boy. I did the survey which laid out the location of the buildngs in the new compound. Except for units on the DMZ, I believe the entire battalion was concenrated there. Some names I remember are Lt. Arthur Berkey, Maj. Frank Pechulis, Lt. Col. James E. Davidoff, Master Sgt. Boutte, Lt. Edward J. Filemyr III. Keywords: Munsan-ni, Paju-ri, A9 Airfield |
