Comments: Dear Heroes, I am doing research on behalf of husband and my father in law. My husband's grandfather served in Korea in the 25th Infantry Division HQ Co. I found him listed on a great veteran roster site http://files.usgwarchives.net/foreign/korea/military/korea/rosters/u14thinfa22nmt.txt His name was Sheldon Goliger originally from NY, enlisted from Glendale, CA. He passed away too soon in 1970. My father in law says that his father did not talk about his experiences when he was a kid and he never got the chance to know him as an adult. He has always wanted to know that patriotic side of his father. I'm a Navy brat myself and we cherish our family's long line of service to our country. My father in law would love to hear from anyone who knew him or heard of him in any context. I know there are very old postings on this site, so no matter when you read this, even if it is 10 years from now, contact me please. With Gratitude, Miriam G.

Comments: I am looking for anyone that served in Korea in 1951-1952 in the 25th Infantry that may have known my dad. He recently passed away and I would like to talk to anyone that may have known him. He was the head of the wiremen during that time. I am wanting to compile a book of memories of those who served with him to give to my mother. She is so lost without him and I am thinking that a book of this nature could possibly help her to cope. My dad spoke fondly of so many of the men that he served with, but I just can't seem to remember any of their names. Please, if you remember him, email me with your memories. I would really appreciate it. Thank you for your time.

Comments: Comments: I am looking for William L. Milano of The 27th Inf. Regt. 25th Div. I & R. Or anyone that can give me some information about a November 6, 1950 I&R mission which resulted in an ambush. My Uncle, PFC Donald R. Richards was part of this mission, in which he is listed as KIA on this website. I have spoken to Arthur D. Montgomery and he states that he spoke with William Milano last year. I have a list of all casulties and KIA for the27th Inf. Regt. 25th Div. that day and an Associated Press story which depicts an atrocity which occurred that day and my family is very interested to find out the details of that mission. The headline reads "Reds Give Apples to 15 U.N. Soldiers, Murder 14". When my uncle died, my grandmother didn't want the specifics' and my uncle's siblings were too young at the time. His remain's didn't arrive back home for several months' after the family's notification and well after his memorial service. The remaining family survivors' did want and still do want the details of that day if anyone can assist us in anyway. The Army states that Donalds records were destroyed in The St. Louis fire of 1973, which doesn't make this any easier and thus I am forced to reach out to you folks. I realize this is a hard account to have to recall and a lot to ask of anyone who was there, but this is the only resource I can think of. I have found transcripts' of The Senate Committee Hearings' (Senator McCarthy) in which William Milano was interviewed in late 1953 but the information is vague at most and doesn't contain the investigation reports' conducted by The 8th Army Investigation Team looking into the events. A professor I spoke with states that there is a lot more information out there and any assistance I can get will be greatly appreciated. God Bless each and every one of you for your valiant service to this country. All of you are heros' in my eyes and those of my family. America is forever indebted to you all. Thank you, Dean Richards

Comments: Looking for anyone who served with Clifford Damron from Arkansas. Some of what he remembers is 157th Infantry or Battalion Division, 89th Tank Battalion, 24th Battalion, supporting the Turkish Brigade, serving at Hill 1062, Kung Chum Reservoir and a Herbert Holmes from Kentucky. He was in Korea from winter of 1951 to Nov of 1953. He had been wounded and was sent back to the states Nov 53. He is having a lot of health issues from the cold weather and from shrapnel he received when he was shot. Since he records were burned in the fire of St Louis he is having trouble getting the help he needs. From our understanding if he finds anyone who served with him that could prove as documentation. Any help anyone could give would be greatly appreciated.

We have tried ever since his death last year to find out where he served and what action he saw. Anyone who may have served with Milton please write. Also if we can just find where he served. Hello,
My name is David Mesa, son of Pablo Mesa Cpl., Headquarters Company,
2nd Battalion, Company G.
When I was a kid, I was the only one who asked my father about the war
he was in. I considered him a hero for serving his country as we all
should to the men that did.
He talked so much about the friends he made durring the war, but never
mentioned their names. According to his records, my father was never
wounded. I pray to the men that died beside him, because of them I am
here.
My father served in Korea just as my grandfather served in the first
WAR. I'm currently in the United States Naval Reserve and currently hold
the rank of Chief Petty Officer. I can't explain how much my father made
an impact on my career. If their are any Men who served with him, please write back.
I would like to thank you , for serving our country.
Needs help, if anyone remembers incident

Yes, this is a request for help concerning the Korean War Period !!!
In February of 1952, I was assigned to Team "E" of the 205th Signal
Repair Company ( a part of The Eighth Army). At that time, Team "E" was
located with (and shared mess, PX and other facilities with) The
Headquarters Company of The 25th Infantry Division (call name
"Lightening").
Team "E" provided service for and repair of Signal Corps Equipment
(radio, radar, telephone equipment etc.) for The 25th Infantry
Division, The Turkish North Star Brigade, 1st Marine Division (and camp
Tripoli), 7th and 8th Republic of Korea (ROK) Divisions and other units.
While in Korea, I rarely saw or had access to maps. So, other than
knowing, that at that time we were located somewhere between The
Punchbowl and Heartbreak Ridge, I never knew precisely where I was in
the "big map of things".
Also, can you locate for me (as precisly as possibile) the location
(coordinates) of some of the following organizations (during
February 1952) or areas.
1) Headquarters Company of The 25th Infantry Division
2) Heartbreak Ridge (stretching from ______ to _____)
3) The Punchbowl (approximate center and radius)
4) Camp Tripoli (1st Marine Division's rear or rest area)
5) Turkish North Star Brigade (rear area)
6) Smoke Valley (smoke generators for)
7) Artillery Valley
It's funny.... when I was in Korea, I really wasn't concerned about
where I was. I could always look down at my feet and see where I was
standing. I always knew where I was, it was just that I didn't know
where that was on a map. I just had to know where I was going (there
was always someonewho would tell me where to go).
Now, some forty-six years later, when my children and grand-children ask
me, "where were you", besides showing them some old photos or slides of
my travels through the mountains of Korea, I'd like to be able to pull
out a map and show them where I had been.
Sometime in about May of 1952, "E" Team and I were pulled back to X
Corps Command located in the Kwandae-ri and Inje areas. The 25th Div
was moved to a western sector and replaced by the 40th and 45th
Divisions which we then served along with ROK Divisions and others.
Again, any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated.
Yours truly,
David L Paulson
ex SFC and N.C.O.I.C (eventually)
