Comments: i was sent to the 24th. too late (2 weeks) to see any action. i was always ashamed about that. too young for ww2. and too old for vnam .

i always wondered about the hand me down ww2 equipment ie.combat boots, wool mummy sleeping bags (boy did they itch). had to guard some railroad tracks with no bullets.

later assigned to 56th qm salvage co.that was around chun chon there was a air strip accross the road. what a change. noticed silk lined down filled sleeping bags being turned in. tent liners were a hot item, 5 of which we traded for 50 lbs of steak headed for some general's mess.

Comments: I would like to hear from anyone stationed with the 24th repl depot. I worked in security police and then moved into the orderly room as clerk to company commander and helped some in troop movement. Some of the guys were Roy Brown --Harold Richardson--Wilmer Lott from Miss.
