Comments: Would like to re-connect with anyone who was in Mr.
Ferraro's band on Sheridan Kaserne from early '62 to late
'64. I played piano in the dance band and cymbals in the
marching and concert band. In 1963, I met my wife at the
snack bar there on Sheridan - 46 years later... still
married and having a great time. So far, I've found Max
Zeigler, Nat Tassanario and Earl Moseley.

Comments: My father, Richard (Dick) Crampton played clarinet in
the 24th Infantry Division Band in Korean in 1951. He
was transfered to Sendai, Japan and played at the
Occupational Peace Treaty when Japan was presented with
their colors. He was and still is from Madison Heights
Michigan. He had a good friend Hank Gavoni from the
east coast that he lost touch with. It would be nice
to hear from others to learn more about their
experiences. He traveled to Japan on the US James
O'Hara from Seattle on September 4, 1951 and then
debarked on the USNS Gen. Black to Inchon Korea on
September 22nd.

Sincerely,
Greg Crampton

Comments: I am trying to find information on my Dad's Army Band Unit and was hoping someone would either remember him or give me some info on where to look.

His name was Albert Torres. All I know is that he played in the band during the Korean War. He played many instruments, but his main one was sax so I am assuming that is what he played during the war.

Any help or tips would be very helpful.

Thank you.

Doing a lot of reminiscing on the computer. Also finishing a "MASH" type book on the band at that time. My publisher is interested, - looks good, brace yourself.

I called the two band members and we re-connected -- after forty years.

Captain told us before we shipped out for Korea that we would kick ass and be back in Japan within 6 months. That never happened. Members of our band who were transfered to the Defense platoon that was responsible for guarding General Deans forwrd headquarters should not forget the event referred to as the "Road Block".
