Comments: I remember how cold it was and what a cruel place to live all those months.We had only squad all the time we were there, no heat anywhere. Pulling the 155 howsers on those mountain roads wet and slick with the half tracts was quite something. I think the "forgotten war" there was somebody who was not there.

Looking for info on Frank L. Chandler

Comments: Frank L. Chandler was a friend of my father's when we lived in Hawaii in the early 1950's. After Frank was wounded, he would come to visit us. Recently, we saw a famous picture of him taken during the Korean War. He was sitting, comforting another man who had just lost his buddy. The picture was taken by Al Chang, a famous military photographer from Hawaii. The new book where this picture appears is called "Rehearsal for Defeat" by David Halberstam. We would like to know if there is anyone out there who might know something about Frank.

Comments: My dad served in the Korean War from 1951-53. He was first sent to Ft. Jackson, then to Camp Breckinridge for 16 weeks. He later was sent to a South Camp near Mt. Fugi. His name is Ralph L. Comments: My grandfather Norman F. Marshall was killed in Korea in July of 1950. He was a doctor here in the States and I believe he was a medical officer as well in Korea. He was from Colorado and was almost 30 years old at the time of his death. If anyone knew him or could share any information they have about him...it would be greatly appreciated. You would be surprised how little I have been able to gather about him, so anything would be helpful. Memorial to Capt. George E. Downey

Comments: Capt. Downey (Jack) was a long time friend of my mother's. We found a picture of him as a prisoner in the POW Museum at Andersonville, GA. She gave them the info she had on Jack and they were kind enough to make copies of the picture for us. He was from a little place in Georgia called Longpond, Montgomery County. I know he died in Gainesville, FL.

Robert Gene Pallesen - POW - Died In Captivity

Comments: Looking for anyone who may have known my mother's cousin, Bobby Pallesen. He was a medic with the 24th infantry, sent from Japan, captured 14 Jul 1950, and died while captive 31 Oct 1950.

Comments: Looking for any information about, or to contact anyone who may have served with my cousin Robert G. "Bobby" Pallesen (E-2), 24th Inf Div, 24th Arty, Svc #:16305067, MOS 00861, from Racine, Wisconsin. From what I can surmise, he was possibly a part of Task Force Smith, was captured 14 July 1950 (possibly indicating he was with the 63rd FAB as many of them were also listed as captured that day), and died (per Johnson's list) 31 Oct 1950 at an unknown location. Also any information on obtaining his POW/MIA bracelet would be very much appreciated.
